GROZ: So it's not just us fans!

My problems with Zimmer:

1) Learn how (and when to call it) to scheme a blitz that will actually GET to the QB and sack him. I swear everytime we blitz 6-8 people, EVERYONE of them gets blocked easily and the QB gets enough time to find someone. Its unreal.

2) Develop a player that turns into an effective passrusher. How many draft picks must we use before we 'find' someone who can get to the passer. The only true passrusher we've had in a decade and a half was Haley, and Haley developed into the player he was before he came here.

3) Do more with less. It seems like we can't have any success unless we have a first-round draft pick, high-priced FA, or regular all-pro player at EVERY position on the defense.

The idea of a delayed draw is to let the linebackers migrate to their pass protection responsibilities.

If linebackers are dropping into deep coverages on third and long at the snap of the ball, it really doesn't matter if a line stunt is called or not. 5 or 6 offensive lineman should be able to block 3 or 4 defensive lineman.

And that's basically what's happening.

You think Parcells is a fool? That he has no concept of "stunts" and "games" by the defensive line?

Obviously he has a good reason for not using them more often....

And obviously the Giants marched down the field and scored on us rather easily with one of their starting WRs and left tackle out of the game. Obviously something didn't work.

OK-- agreed.

But how do you know that wasn't attributable to the soft zone we were playing?

Why not suggest a more aggressive "man-to-man" coverage scheme?

I often see teams "march down the field" on another playing a soft zone or prevent type of defense.
