I think, realistically, we're looking at a new defensive coordinator (Kiffin's done) and possibly Art Briles as offensive coordinator.

I think UT will throw a ton of numbers at Gruden, as well. I think Gruden's style of coaching would translate very well to the college game.

in what world would art briles come and work for Jason garrett? Garrett is assistant coaches kryptonite right now. He is not a head coach and no one will want to work for the guy when this year is over. This is pretty laughable. The guy is not coming to the nfl and no one on this staff will be here next year.

Just things I've heard, man. Take them with a grain of salt, like every other rumor here.

Agreed. Briles does not need to accept an OC job that's for sure.

Honestly, I have never been a huge Gruden fan, but when you have been coachless for 3 and half years this would be a gigantic upgrade.

I'm not a big Gruden guy either. BUT he wouldn't be outcoached every game like Garrett is. Just think of the improvement that would have made during Garrett's tenure.

go back and watch gruden in 06 and his playoff game against the giants in 07.

He had his time. Paying him a large salary is craziness. He is not a builder of a franchise. That is what we need.

Jerry is going to hire a defensive guy for two reasons, he put together one of the worst defenses anyone has ever seen with his own decisions last offseason and now he needs the fans to see he is fixing it himself again......and the second reason is he is cheap, by hiring a guy like zimmer he can make him the defensive coordinator or by hiring lovie he can just change marinelli's job title to defensive coordinator like he did Callahan this offseason.

and the beat will go on. That will throw the structure out of whack.

we need a real head coach. The best head coaching candidate there is and he should be able to hire all his own assistants.

raise your hand if you think that has any chance of happening.

no reason to and definitely not under a guy who is a disaster and answers to whatever jerry tells him.

no veteran coach who really has his heart in it would work with either of these two.

Hard to read that post, but I would welcome Mike Zimmer back to coach our defense. I don't think he's leaving Cincy, though. They have a pretty good working relationship going on up there.

The problem is that you state all of this as if it is fact, when they are actually all 100% your own opinions.

Again, grain of salt, but worth a thought. Especially because there has allegedly already been some contact.

Even Jerry isn't crazy enough to be talking to coaches while having a coach under contract close to the playoffs.

That's by no means an endorsement for Garrett, but now isn't the time to be talking to new coaches. The team is enough of a circus already

Speak for yourself. I don't buy his BS.

thats right. Risen Star is not fooled by the clown Jerry Jones. Jerry trying to get his nonsense past Risen Star is like trying to sneak sunrise past a rooster. It just doesnt happen.

so I am dealing in opinion but you know there has been some contact.

Interesting.

and garrett being a disaster is not an opinion. go watch that cowher video from last week, its obvious he has lost respect of other coaches with the way he has handled himself and allowed himself to become just another jerry guy.

Cowher's been sitting at a desk for years and gets paid to say things on television that get attention.

Come on, theebs. The team is not performing up to our pre-season expectations but the Monday-Tuesday-Wednesday-Thursday-Friday Morning 20/20 Hindsight Quarterbacking is a disingenuous way to evaluate anything.

he said clearly what happens here and why none of the type of people we need to come here ever will. He layed out exactly what people like himself think of garrett. He is just another jerry guy and he will have a hard time shaking it.

Cowher has done a lot more in his career than just sit at a desk.

Hindsight is how anything is evaluated. People lose their jobs based on hindsight. Are you getting the job done or not?

Saw this in an article about Rich Gannon thinking Gruden will come back and coach...you can pretty much cross him off the list.....

"I don't know when. I don't know where, but I know this, that he had two bad experiences as a head coach with some owners that he just had a tough time with," Gannon said. "And you know I think it's pretty clear that he didn't necessarily see eye to eye with Mr. Davis and I think he was really disappointed at what happened with the Glazers [In Tampa Bay]... and I think he wants to go somewhere where he's got an owner that's not gonna, you know, try and pick the roster and try and call the plays, and just a guy that he can just come in and work for and hire a staff and get the thing turned around."
