Gruden Rumor

Hindsight is how anything is evaluated. People lose their jobs based on hindsight. Are you getting the job done or not?

for instance, cowher 15 years in Pittsburgh, 10 playoff appearances, 8 division titles and two superbowls.

hindsight looks pretty good to me.

I mean, Compare that 15 to our last 15.

and then consider garrett is our coach.

God No.. Please God NO.. For all the prayers I can send PLEASE GOD NO!!!!!!!

I still think that's disingenuous.

If you're going to sit here and tell me you'd be totally satisfied with 1 Super Bowl win in 15 years, I have beachfront property to sell you in Afghanistan.

is this a serious response? You seem thrilled with where we are at now and I am supposed to believe cowhers resume is to weak for you?

good lord.

15 years, 10 times in the playoffs, 8 division titles and 1-1 in the superbowl plus he left the team in terrific shape and churned out a ton of assistant coaches to big time jobs.

nah, send me some more campo's, garrets and wade Phillips.

One more thing on cowher.

I would be thrilled if we got two of his assitants here to come run the show. Hire Whisenhut as Head Coach and Keith Butler as Defensive coordinator. Whisenhut can hire his own OC but he would make us better on that side of the ball and butler's linebacking groups have been fantastic. These two would instill some toughness if allowed to do it the right way.

unfortunately we know they wouldn't be able to do it their way because there are stadium tours to promote and sky mirror's

Gruden is Vince Lombardi and Tom Landry rolled into one compared to Garrett. Honestly the basic game management skills that he lacks would get him fired from a Jr High Football coaching job.

We will not be losing 4 or 5 games a year due to Chucky botching games

You can't ask for much more than a team in contention each year, and Cowher certainly had that despite some awful quarterbacks.

that has long been my wish...hire Ken Whisenhunt.

balogny. Romo has nothing on kordell stewart.

Kordell stewart would never audible out of garretts brilliant gameplans.

Cowher was lucky to not have a guy like romo fixing his offense....umm..changing his offense for him.

in my mind right now since I know we are stuck with the jones family I don't think it matters but I have two groups I could live with.

The west coast staff
Holmgren-Shurmur-Frazier.....Holmgren is the top dog and can handle everything, shurmur has had success in philly and st.louis and could help develop the next qb, fraziers units are solid and get turnovers.

or

the Tough staff, old school running and stopping the run

Whisenhut-Haley-Butler - Whisenhut can handle a vet qb and a big time wideout, his roots are tight end so witten/escobar/Hannah will excel here, haley is a tough no nonsense guy players don't like which might be good here for awhile and butlers linebacker groups have been outstanding and don't get run on. He knows what an nfl defense should look like and play like.

at this moment I am not excited about many others. Whisenhut I don't think would even be interested here seeing that he turned down Oakland at one point and he is kind of reserved and I am not sure how he would handle the Grinch.

Lovie, gruden do nothing for me. Zimmer sickens me.

You want HALEY! He is awful. We already had him on staff at one point. He has failed wherever he has gone since - as HC and OC. And IMO he was no great shakes even with us before.

Good fit with whisenhut. Hard on players and they don't like him but he would be a nice fit here with a group of like minded coaches.

Id love that! Show some damn emotion. Get pissed off at the refs!! Do something other than clap and smile. -_-

"Don't confuse activity with productivity." John Wooden

I do t care if the coach does a rain dance and cartwheels, or stands there with arms folded and scowls the whole time. As long as he wins, and dies it honorably. All the intensity in the world won't look any less foolish than Garrett's clapping if we don't win.
