4 or 5? So Gruden's gonna take us from 8 wins a year to 12-13? Yeah, no.

We may still lose games, but it wont be because of botched game management, it will be because the other team is just better.............that is what I meant.

I hear you, but if we don't continue to improve the talent, and figure a way to stay healthier, we'll still get beat regardless. I'm all for getting a better coach. I'm just not as sold on Gruden as some. And I've pretty much adopted the thinking that, as long as Jerry's around, we'll never win anything.

Hey, if Gruden knows enough to take out the 100 million dollar QB late in the 4th qtr of an obvious blowout loss, then he is already one step ahead of Garrett.

Can you imagine the intensity on the sidelines after seeing 'stoic' Jason Garrett and Wade Phillips and a burnt out Parcells on the sidelines?

Yes I can imagine..

I have always liked Gruden and thought he is long over due to return to the sidelines.

I'm not a big Gruden guy either. BUT he wouldn't be outcoached every game like Garrett is. Just think of the improvement that would have made during Garrett's tenure.

Oh yeah..

And Romo wouldn't get away with his childish egotistical play, either.

That right there would translate into 1-2 more wins each season and that means domination in the Eastern Division for the last 3 years instead of this coddled mess we have now/w the owner/HC and QB.

balogny. Romo has nothing on kordell stewart.

Kordell stewart would never audible out of garretts brilliant gameplans.

Cowher was lucky to not have a guy like romo fixing his offense....umm..changing his offense for him.

From what I have understood..

Romo only this season has been allowed to have more input into the game planning and therefore should be a better QB.

Maybe Romo is uncoachable?

Have any of us followed that thought thru?

I'm at that conclusion anyway just based on his W/L record overall.

I don't know why everyone is so high on Gruden. What has he done other than take someone else's team to the SB and then crash and burn in the few years after that?

Seriously, garretts stupid clappin after sumthin bad happens on tha field has to be the most annoyin thing ever. More than phillips confused look. Im all in for gruden!

JG aced his college class in motivational skills and is using these tools now. Unfortunately they don't work at this level although high school JV would be fine...

It is great to read name coaches want to be here, but at the end of the day, if that coach does not have strong ties to college football and does not have a plan on how to build a team based on his beliefs it will not matter here. You can say what you want about Parcells, he was definitely worn out by the time he got here, he had a blueprint for the team he wanted to build. He did not accomplish the goal for doing it but if he was 5 years younger, I am betting he would have. The next coach has to have a blueprint on the team he thinks will win him a Super Bowl. If he doesn't he won't last 4 years here because we will be in the same exact cycle we are in now.

Well he also did pretty good with Oakland and was close to getting to the SB. Not extremely high on him but I'd much rather have him than Garrett!

virtually any HC would be better at game management than Garrett...and, get someone who will actually act like a coach during a game - yell a little at the refs (when warranted), get in a player's face when they have a stupid penalty or turnover...show some emotion other than "good golly dez, you made a nice catch there" (almost tackles him getting back to the bench)....I was a "wait and see" guy with Garrett, but I am now done with him....must get better @ hc, must

Gruden is not my first pick, I have some concerns about him as well. However, I am just done with Garrett after last week..............I really dont care who the next head coach is along as Garrett is gone..............I have never seen a head coach botch as many games as he has at any level.

Burden is ok with me simply because:

1. Romo will have to answer to him
2. We will not games that we are supposed to via butthread decisions

Compared to freaking Garrett....................Gruden looks like the second coming of Vince Lombardi.

4 pages in and no one has mentioned that Gruden can't evaluate talent either.

Let's face it boys: it's going to be a total rebuild within 2 years. Better make sure you get someone who knows how to pick players.
