It doesn't bother me that we made this kind of move, it's that we made 3 of this kind of move with one unit in one year, which leaves us with a hell of a lot of inexperience protecting Romo.
I can understand that but it's not like the line protecting Romo the last few years was all that good at doing it in the first place.

Maybe you're right. I hope so, but in 2 weeks we'll be facing a guy who will throw everything he's got at these young guys and and he won't care if Romo's leg gets broken in the process. IMO somebody has to be coming in.
I have faith that these young guys are going to be ready to show what they can do. There is going to be some growing pains, for sure, but I like that fact that they showed up, they worked hard, they proved themselves and Garrett is putting the best players on the field.
Obviously he didn't like that AG was sitting around, after a late surgery, thinking the starting job was simply his by default.
That's my thought on it anyway.

Yep. No other explanation. This may be a 4-12 year.
4-12? Really?
You think cause we got rid of 3 guys from an O-Line that was terrible at pass blocking in the first place means we're going to be going 4-12 now?
Come on man. Even you can't possibly be that negative.

So after the 6-10 season we were begging for change. Now that we get changed everyone is like "OMG we're doomed, seasons over!"
I don't get it.

We can't get a draft pick for a pro bowl center? Really?
You can say whatever you want about the secondary, Pittsburgh and Baltimore have average secondaries and win superbowls. However gambling with the oline like this can cost us our season.
We had a superbowl caliber team 2 years ago but Colombo/Davis couldn't block anybody and of course it carried over into the next season. I hope these young guys hold up, one injury could kill us.
This isn't Madden. No one, not one single team, is going to trade for a Center with that Salary. Why would they? Andre could have restructured and stayed here as a back up. It appears he didn't want to do that and no one was willing to deal for his contract so he's gone.
That's how the business side of football works.

yeah some people are just Jerry Jones koolaid drinkers...
This team was 6-10 last year, starting quarterback was lost early in the season, running game was horrible with that veteran aging offensive line would couldn't get to the second level. I thought after the minnesota playoff game loss that Dallas needed to make wholesale changes along the offensive line, it took two years but clearly Garrett wanted these changes, and I for one, am glad he's taking charge out there with this team...
if anyone watched the playoff game and then put the tape in of the game last week, anyone could of seen that this young offensive line looked alot better than that old aging unathletic offensive line of two years ago
I agree with this post about the o-line, I think it's spot on, but I'm not sure how that tied into your thought on Jerry Kool-aid drinkers. I'm missing something there I guess. lol

We just let our starting C go and keep Brooking and u guys think nothing is wrong here?
Could it be that Garrett and Company feel like they have people on the O-Line that can, and will, replace AG without missing a beat and don't feel the same about the ILB spot?
You do realise that they have to feel good about what they have in replace of the player before they let them go, right? Obviously they feel good about Costa and Company and maybe they don't feel so good about Lee taking over for Brooking.

what i want to know is there someone to replace him that is as good or better than him? please explain this to me. now i am getting worried about this season. we pretty much have a whole new O-LINE
So you weren't worried watching this o-line when it had guys like AG on it? A guy who is just as much responsible as Davis and Marc for poor O-Line play the last few years? It's not exactly like Romo had all day back there behind those folks to begin with.
A youth, and athletic, movement has begun on the O-Line via Jason Garrett. I like it.

Gurode had a slew of issues before his body started breaking down. We've been complaining about his inability to make line calls, accurately snap in the shotgun, get to the next level on running plays, and other snap timing snafus for years. Now that we're having a youth movement and releasing the liabilities on the offensive line, we want to bemoan our season?
I applaud moves like this. It sends a clear message to the rest of the players: Forget about your position on the depth chart, worry about your position on the roster.
We've gotten younger, saved cap space and sent a message. It would have been nice to get something in trade but that was highly unlikely.
Excellent post. I agree with you on this.

Funny how some of these people that hate this move wanted Dallas to act more like the patriots. They do something they would do and now it sucks. What they really are saying if you do not sign my pet cat or get rid of this guy then the Cowboys do not know what they are doing.
Exactly.
It's more of the Cowboys can't do anything right mentality, even when they do exactly what I've been crying for them to do for a long time.
Welcome to the zone.

Yeah, but it's fine.
Every offensive lineman we have left on this team is great, despite no track record.
No worries.
Who said there are not any worries? You think anyone is going into the season without some questions and concerns? Back up off the ledge a little bit. I liked AG as much as anyone but we're not talking about a rock solid, Hall of Famer, in his prime here.
We're talking about an average guy who was declining and it was time to move on and let the young guys get in there and do work.

I would just counter that this isn't Garrett's first year here, he's been here for several years. And those years included guys like Bright and Brewster and a trade for Alex Barron.
So he's got some smudges on him too.
I'm both happy and worried about these moves.
Happy that we are shaking up the status quo and chasing off several high-priced guys that got too comfortable.
But worried that it's too much too soon and may come back to bite us (or Romo!).
However, if you have the courage to make this move, I would hope they have the same amount of courage to send Holland packing.
Sorry but I have no idea how you feel you can put personel decisions, and who started and stayed, on Garrett for a time when he wasn't the HC and wasn't making those calls.
This is his first offseason to call the shots and the guys he doesn't want here are gone.

Gotta admit, this one shocks me. Phil Costa, you better be the goods man.
The last link to the Campo years. Now if we could just get rid of Campo.
I believe, knowing your thoughts on Garrett, that you believe that Garrett sees him having the goods and that's why AG isn't here.
