I can understand that but it's not like the line protecting Romo the last few years was all that good at doing it in the first place.

I have faith that these young guys are going to be ready to show what they can do. There is going to be some growing pains, for sure, but I like that fact that they showed up, they worked hard, they proved themselves and Garrett is putting the best players on the field.
Obviously he didn't like that AG was sitting around, after a late surgery, thinking the starting job was simply his by default.
That's my thought on it anyway.

We had a superbowl caliber team 2 years ago but Colombo/Davis couldn't block anybody and of course it carried over into the next season. I hope these young guys hold up, one injury could kill us.
This isn't Madden. No one, not one single team, is going to trade for a Center with that Salary. Why would they? Andre could have restructured and stayed here as a back up. It appears he didn't want to do that and no one was willing to deal for his contract so he's gone.

This team was 6-10 last year, starting quarterback was lost early in the season, running game was horrible with that veteran aging offensive line would couldn't get to the second level. I thought after the minnesota playoff game loss that Dallas needed to make wholesale changes along the offensive line, it took two years but clearly Garrett wanted these changes, and I for one, am glad he's taking charge out there with this team...
if anyone watched the playoff game and then put the tape in of the game last week, anyone could of seen that this young offensive line looked alot better than that old aging unathletic offensive line of two years ago
I agree with this post about the o-line, I think it's spot on, but I'm not sure how that tied into your thought on Jerry Kool-aid drinkers. I'm missing something there I guess. lol

You do realise that they have to feel good about what they have in replace of the player before they let them go, right? Obviously they feel good about Costa and Company and maybe they don't feel so good about Lee taking over for Brooking.

So you weren't worried watching this o-line when it had guys like AG on it? A guy who is just as much responsible as Davis and Marc for poor O-Line play the last few years? It's not exactly like Romo had all day back there behind those folks to begin with.
A youth, and athletic, movement has begun on the O-Line via Jason Garrett. I like it.

I applaud moves like this. It sends a clear message to the rest of the players: Forget about your position on the depth chart, worry about your position on the roster.
We've gotten younger, saved cap space and sent a message. It would have been nice to get something in trade but that was highly unlikely.

Who said there are not any worries? You think anyone is going into the season without some questions and concerns? Back up off the ledge a little bit. I liked AG as much as anyone but we're not talking about a rock solid, Hall of Famer, in his prime here.
We're talking about an average guy who was declining and it was time to move on and let the young guys get in there and do work.

I'm both happy and worried about these moves.
Happy that we are shaking up the status quo and chasing off several high-priced guys that got too comfortable.
But worried that it's too much too soon and may come back to bite us (or Romo!).
However, if you have the courage to make this move, I would hope they have the same amount of courage to send Holland packing.
Sorry but I have no idea how you feel you can put personel decisions, and who started and stayed, on Garrett for a time when he wasn't the HC and wasn't making those calls.
This is his first offseason to call the shots and the guys he doesn't want here are gone.
