My gut says, that if we don't beat Pilly on Thanksgiving, our chances of a playoff appearance are minimal. Win? And we have a good chance of going deep in the playoffs.

We're all just talking guts here, but if we beat the Giants and lose to the Eagles, we'd be 8-4. An average 8-4 team has an 82% chance to reach the postseason. I'd say we'd still be in pretty good position at that point. Thought at 9-3 we'd be at 97%, which my gut likes a lot better.

Win the next week v. CHI, too, and 100% of NFL teams end up qualifying for the post season with a 10-3 record after 13 games.

This is a serious stretch of games for our Cowboys. Many prognosticators and fans believe we must win the East to even land a playoff birth. I almost feel that way too--not all the way, but leaning towards winning the division.

I usually dismiss gut instincts/feelings, but I have to say; handle the Giants, and I feel really good about beating down the Eagles, and I mean really good about it come Thanksgiving.

That's as far as I will prognosticate. What's your gut tell you?

This is the deal for me. It all depends how we play/win against NYG and if we come out healthy. If we stomp them, it will be a good step for a run and I will feel good about the TG game. If we look shaky throughout and barely win or barely lose then I'm thinking here we go again. Another nail biting December. I'm hoping Garrett has them ready. The table is set.

 You better change your user name if that gut feeling comes true.

Where did I say it was going to happen? I said if it happens game over. Romo is the one player they cannot lose.

I find it hard to believe I am the only person on this forum who has mentioned this at any time this season.

Well, we would be 9-4, not 10-3..if we won against the Giants and lost to the Eagles, and then Beat the Bears. Then, we would have to beat the Eagles away after already loosing to them at home to have a chance to win the division (+ the Colts). Not sure we can get in as a wild card given our head to head loss against the niners and and how well the Lions / Packers are playing?

Romo's health and ability to function at 100 percent is what makes or breaks the rest of this season.

My conspiracy theory, second gunman on the grassy knoll feeling is the Commanders player intentionally kneed Romo in the back to cause an injury.

I suspect the four games against the NFC East teams will be headhunting days and Romo has a huge target on his...ahem..."back."

These guys know the team cannot win without Romo.

So why not just blitz him into an injury and be done with it? That is how you beat this team.

So no Superman Romo, no play-olffs, media has a feeding frenzy, the fans of other teams ridicule the crap out of Dallas, and we are sitting here fist fighting for another seven months until mid summer arguing with the people we should be closest to.

I'd moved off the scenario of losing to the Eagles and back to winning the next three games with the 10-3 comment. I hadn't looked up the odds for 9-4 teams making the playoffs, but they still have to be pretty good. I'm just looking at the historical odds, though, and not specifically at this year's scenario. However it plays out, a lot of teams still have to play each other before it's all said and done, and things will shake out as the division match ups start happening for everybody.

If they win 4 games or sweep the Eagles then they are pretty much in.

Watching NE run on Indy encouraged me greatly. I think our coaching staff is more than prepared to deal with the Eagles up tempo system and we aren't going to get caught with our pants down like they have to out of division opponents from time to time over the last two years.

My main concern with the offense has been the pass protection. I think it is getting better. Crawford, Mincey, Melton, Spencer, and Lawrence can rush the passer if they can get pushed around in the run game from time to time. Wilcox, Hitchens, Crawford, and Lawrence are all young players improving game by game. If Brent can help plug up the run defense and we can play just average on ST returns, I think we could control games and really make some noise.

Yeah, that was your gut, but not mine, which is what I thought you were trying to solicit in your thread, others's gut feelings. I think we have played very well, well enough to win the division historically, but my gut says that we have to win against the Eagles at home to do so, and if not, we might not make the playoffs despite a great season overall.
