Gut feelings

My gut is optimistic about our chances, I think the Cowboys are better than all of the teams remaining on the schedule with the possible exception of Indiy. The problem is that they're not head and shoulders above these teams and could lose to any of them if their old dysfunctional ways come back. That Washington loss was a reminder.

There are currently 7 teams in the NFC that are 6-4 or better

Arizona
Dallas
Philly
Green Bay
Detroit
San Francisco
Seattle

The sorry arse NFC South get an auto bid for their division winner, so we got 5 playoff spots left for the 7 teams listed above...................2 teams on the above list are going to be watching the playoffs from the couch.

"IF" we stay healthy meaning one Antonio Ramiro Romo, We'll beat the Giants and the Eagles, I'm that confident in the Boys, there a different team when Tony is on that field, they play extremely better, this bye couldn't of come at a more convenient time, when we're turning the last corner on the season, Go Cowboys!

Yeah, but Dallas still plays PHI twice, the NFCW has 9 games against their top three teams, the Packers still have to play the Lions again. That's a guaranteed 12 losses (barring ties) divided up amongst those 7 teams, without even counting other tough games outside of divisions (like our game in Indy, or PHI v. SEA, or in the NFCW, whoever still has to play the Rams). There's probably 16-18 losses still coming from that top 7 group, not including the fact that we've got tie breakers over some of those teams.

There's a long way to go. If we just take care of business in the NFCE, we're golden. If we handle NY and WAS and split with PHI, we've still got a really good shot. I know people are conditioned to think that the Cowboys choke, but at least this year we've got a good team for cold weather, we're relatively healthy, and we're playing enough better on defense that we actually have a reason to think we can beat good teams.

It's difficult at best to predict how your fav team is likely to fare on the far side of a stretch run. The Eagles are a team highly capable of beating many potent teams on their best day. The same can readily be said about the Cowboys. That's the element that makes the NFL so intriguing. The team that puts its best game on display when it counts is usually the one that emerges the winner at year's end. Here's hoping this team is up to it.

As many people have said, if we can't beat the Eagles/out do them when they're starting Sanchez, we just don't deserve this.

We play the Bears, Colts, Giants, Eagles x2, and Commanders. We should come out of this at worst 11-5, but honestly should go 12-4 or 13-3. The Colts pose the greatest difficulty, but then again this team laid an egg playing the Commanders, so we still don't know who they really are.

Real concerns there Beasty. However, it does look like the Dallas d-line is rounding into its best shape of the season, considering the emergence of Melton, the insertion of Lawrence, and the return of Crawford...hell, even Brent should make a contribution down the stretch. Its all there for the Cowboys to eat...just avoid becoming full of themselves. I agree that if the Cowboys can't take care of the division, then all points beyond look less attainable. I think maybe 4-2 is the best over the next six...11-5 may or may not get you the second seed but it should be good enough to win the division. The Eagles have three tough weeks following cupcake Tenn, but it looks like the Cowboys are going to have to take it from them, which likely means sweeping them. I'm not sure that either NY or Wash can derail them (bad matchups both).

The wildcard for both Dallas and Philadelphia is the play of Sanchez. How he goes, the Eagles will go.

The 6-1 start doesn't mean anything if they crap the bed the next 6 games and end up once again watching the playoffs. That Commanders loss still sticks with me. It makes me think this is the same team that will find a way to come up short at the end.

As flawed as they are, they are no more flawed than the team they're competing with for this division.

It's all there for the taking. Now take it and make some real progress.

This is how I feel too. That loss to Washington stays with me. They looked shockingly bad and unprepared for what the Skins were doing defensively and never adjusted to it.

If a three win Washington team can beat them, I'm not taking anything for granted.

The division is a train wreck. We should sweep the east and take the top spot. From there it gets troubling, and if we lose some OL it's over.

gut feeling is that the cowboys will be favored in 5 of the 6 games, assuming they are healthy...barring ridiculous outcomes like multi-turnovers, etc, they should win 4 or more games the rest of the way...if they are minimally 11-5, they are in the playoffs...if they beat NY and philly twice, they win the division, regardless of anything else

go Cowboys!

This is a serious stretch of games for our Cowboys. Many prognosticators and fans believe we must win the East to even land a playoff birth. I almost feel that way too--not all the way, but leaning towards winning the division.

I usually dismiss gut instincts/feelings, but I have to say; handle the Giants, and I feel really good about beating down the Eagles, and I mean really good about it come Thanksgiving.

That's as far as I will prognosticate. What's your gut tell you?

For me the giants game is insignificant. More important games, the games that really count are the two vs eagles and maybe last game vs skins.

My gut is telling me that the Cowboys are going to find a way to miss the playoffs. I'd really like to be wrong about that.

My gut is telling me that I should not have had the chimichangas for dinner last night. Oye!

Other than that, I have positive feeling about the next three games. :)

You can't really have a gut feeling in this league now days. Just take it one game at a time. Look at Kansas City. They were on a roll. Just beat Seattle. And were tied for 1st in the West. And they go out and lose to a very bad Raiders team. The same Chiefs team who completely destroyed the Pats on MNF a few months ago and people were saying was that the end of the Brady/Bill era. And now look at them. Don't believe they have lost since.

The one game that worries me a little is the Bears game. It will be our 3rd game in less than 2 weeks and it's on the road. They righted the ship last week after they figured out it's legal to throw the deep ball to your big WRs. The size and speed of their receivers worry me. Bears have had our number the last couple years. They usually go crazy on offense and we have no answer for their WRs at all.

I think this has been a crazy season as yet another example happened last night as a 0 win team in Oakland took down a contending team in KC. Dallas just needs to remain focused on each individual game if they do that I think they will be playoff bound. One thing for sure take no team lightly any of them can jump up and bite you.

In the NFL, there's only one gut that really matters.
