Guys, change is coming Jerry Jones said

Look...

I am un-happy with his drops as much as the next person but you cannot blame 1 play for losing a game.

This is not Tennis... this is not Bowling... This is not golf...

This is FOOTBALL which is a TEAM SPORT.

They win as a team, they lose as a team.

For every drop TO has had there has been an error by another player on the team.

Whether a missed block, a bad throw, a costly penalty... mistakes happen.

I cant put blame on 1 person for a loss... ESPICIALLY against the Skins.

TO had one game where he looked like a game changer and in that game he spit on a guy. He needs to go and he should be cut this week to make a statement to all the other underacheivers on the team.

team loss but JJ is paying this guy 10m this year to be Patrick Crayton with bad hands.

he might get cut sometime in the preseason or before week-1, depending on his contract when his season's $$$ is guaranteed.

at least these (some in end zone, some deep passes for would-be tds )...
wash game 1 & 2
nyg game 1 ???
philly game 1 & 2
NO is another (not a rival).

he had 15 drops before this weeks and had at least 2 vs philly.

These were not all TD drops.

The NYG game u are thinking of a costly 3rd down drop and the corner of the endzone when he got shaken up (so maybe 1 there).

The WSH it was 1 drop for a TD.

Philly... am I missing something... where was a TD drop?

NO is not in division.

So I count 1 maybe 2.

Then why do you use an IF scenario.

You didnt say IF but you the drop was in-excusable and this and that blaming the drop for the game.

You usually give good insight but IF you honestly believe that 1 play cost us the game then you are not thinking clearly.

IF I watch the game again I will write down a number of errors by other players.

How mnay miss blocks are in games that if are blocked correctly a RB will be sprung for a TD?

But we dont blame the linemen or TEs or FBs or WRs for missed blocks but why do we for dropped passes?

WR are paid to catch, OL are paid to block... they all deserve criticism.

Why do we still chop TO down for that drop in the game when we can look at the tape and cut everyone down and put blame on.

Because that IF had a huge bearing on the game and when it occurred. It would have ended that football game. There is no question about that.

IF Vanderjagt made the kick is another. But that Owens miscue set the table for all of it.

If he dropped 99 other passes, not a one could have meant more. It was such an easy play.

missing alot...

wash in endzone (ball quasi knocked out) and the bomb off his fingers.

philly hello.

forget it... skimming your above quotes tells enough to not bother

I am sorry. Did you just compare Crayton to TO?

Crayton has the sure hands but does not have the size, strength, and speed of TO.

Crayton is a #3 WR, #2 at best.

TO draws the double and crayton would be manned up all game.

That has to be farcicial. :)

Sure, he SHOULD be made an example of, but unfortunately, one week before the playoffs, it ain't gonna happen.

Hold 'yer horses.

The offseason will be soon enough.:)

Patrick Crayton would not draw double coverage.

The Eagles have all but admitted how much they geared to stop him. Take him out, you limit the potential firepower of the offense. No matter how much you hate him or how disappointed you are, there isn't a defensive coordinator that doesn't consider him at the top of the threats to negate.

Patrick Crayton wouldn't even cause a momentary pause.

Thank you.

TO has had crucial drops but he does draw the attention.

If used properly we could have some big plays to TG but we continue to have TO run Go routes and TG run slants.

Its sickening how the playcalling has been.

I'm not one to make excuses for TO. I think he has came up small compared to what was expected and what he is paid. But I do give him SOME slack only in the fact that he has played hurt, and for a WR, a serious injury. Having a plate screwed into your hand and then revealing that he has torn tendons, that has got to be painful.

If I were TO, I might be a little put off by all of the complaints about the drops, especially when I am playing in bad pain and still leading the league in TDs and have over 1000 yards.

Um, Jerry is part of the problem. He's the common thread in ten years of futility. Nothing will change till a real GM arrives.

We have a winner!

And I do think change is coming, and it is needed. But I have a feeling JJ's change and the change we need isn't going to mesh.

BP probably will leave on his own, especially if we go one and done in the playoffs.. But, I fear Jerry will just promote Zimmer or hire another underqualified candidate in mold of Gailey/Campo to HC. Someone he can control.

Also, I have no doubt JJ will keep TO. Afterall, marketing and ticket sales are first and foremost with him. If you can't bring 'em in by having a winner on the field, then the next best thing is having a media-driven ticket seller on the roster.

I hope I'm wrong. After the debacle with Switzer and then Gailey and Campo, I didn't expect JJ to hire someone like BP. But I guess hitting rock bottom made him desperate and brought him to his senses. I would like to think he has learned once and for all that he needs a proven HC. But after not having the success he thought someone like BP would bring, I wouldn't doubt if he reverts back to taking more control of the team, which would include hiring a HC he can control.

I think we're on the brink of being a contender. But it's going to depend on what direction JJ decides on. When BP is replaced do we bring in another proven HC and allow him to have control over personnel, or do we revert back to JJ controlling just about everything again? If we want to be serious contenders we better hope it's not the latter.

Would you blame TO for the loss of 1 game on 1 specific game aka Washington?

if jerry did it then the team would respond, I have to believe it would. It won't happen but it would scare the crap out of the rest of the jags on the team. somethign needs to change to convince some of these guys that if they don't perform they won't get paid.

Throw the guy a slant and perhaps he can achieve some "returns after catches". The offensive usage of both TO and TG is ridiculous.

You don't pay a guy 10 million dollars and then proceed to not do what teams have been successful in doing on the past with him at wide out. Throw the quick slant already.

Regardless of what happens this offseason, if Parcells or Zimmer isn't gone this team will continue to fade back to the realm of mediocrity.

umm it was thrown to him in the 4th qtr, he ducked and pulled his arms down so he didnt get hit.

He is a complete coward. That was one of the most gutless acts I have seen.

No. One player does not put the team in that position. The whoile team put the team in that position. Columbo missed a block.

And then even then, someone missed a tackle on Taylor to let him get the extra yards. TO had nothing to do with any of that.

I do blame him for the drops, regardless of his finger, he did dopr the balls, but there are extenuating circumstances. I honestly don't think if he didn't have the injury, he wouldn't have as many drops as he does.

I think Jerry is fed up... and so are most Cowboy fans!!! 9-22 v. teams with .500 records or better!!!

BP hasnt even beaten 10 good teams in 4 years!!! and considering Campos boys won 2 of those... he has 8 wins in 3 years over teams that are 8-8!!!

lets not forget the fact that he hasnt had back to back 10 win seasons since 90!!!

I am convinced the absense of slant routes to Ownes is based on what a fan here said a few weeks ago. He mentioned that a friend of his had had dinner with one of the coaches and the guy had mentioned how unwilling Owens now is to take contact over the middle.

Certainly the coaching staff is sending TG to clear things out for a reason.

and it's not because he's so much bigger.

It's time for him to go, and I think even BP knows this. If he had to have old players and friends call him and come to Dallas to check on him after the way he looked during that first Giants game, then he'll probably need the entire '90 Giants team to come down and cheer him up this week.
He has looked the same against NO and yesterday as he did during that first NY game. I think he knows he has tried everything he can and he can't get it done.

The big question will be who JJ goes after to replace him with.
