Guys, change is coming Jerry Jones said

BTW, I listened to the JJones show and he never said 'change is coming'.
I don't understand what some of you guys hear sometimes.

No. One player does not put the team in that position. The whoile team put the team in that position. Columbo missed a block.

And then even then, someone missed a tackle on Taylor to let him get the extra yards. TO had nothing to do with any of that.

I do blame him for the drops, regardless of his finger, he did dopr the balls, but there are extenuating circumstances. I honestly don't think if he didn't have the injury, he wouldn't have as many drops as he does.

I am so with you on this one.

It's time for him to go, and I think even BP knows this. If he had to have old players and friends call him and come to Dallas to check on him after the way he looked during that first Giants game, then he'll probably need the entire '90 Giants team to come down and cheer him up this week.
He has looked the same against NO and yesterday as he did during that first NY game. I think he knows he has tried everything he can and he can't get it done.

The big question will be who JJ goes after to replace him with.

At this point I think Parcells would do a great job as a GM only. Not that that would happen here, just think he can find good players with great potential. (Romo, Hatcher, Ware etc.)

There needs to be changes, and it should start at the top and I'm not talking Jones...Cause that's never going to happen.

But if we get rid of Owens all our problems will be solved. Does he play Defense?

Even with his misses, he is still light years above the Jones/Lacewell years.
But I'm sure you're right that once he leaves he won't stay as GM.

As long as JJ is here we won't have a real GM. The best we can hope for is having a HC who has close to full control over personnel, like BP has and Jimmy had.

umm it was thrown to him in the 4th qtr, he ducked and pulled his arms down so he didnt get hit.

He is a complete coward. That was one of the most gutless acts I have seen.

THANK YOU. I was wondering if anyone else had noticed how many times this year Owens was thrown to on the quick slant. He's caught most of them but there have been more than a few where he seemed to either pull up, look up or short-arm them. Coincidentally, it seems like someone was bearing down on him most of the times that happened. Very catchable balls, too.

Make of that what you will, but don't claim they haven't used Owens in the quick slant. They have. He just comes up small more often than a $9 million dollar receiver should.

Jimmy would win a SB with this team because he is not a coward and plays to win.

If Jerry gave up control and paid him fat I would like to think Jimmy would come back for egos sake.
Ding-ding-ding, we have a winner!

Bill is one hell of a football coach. But he's no Tom Landry or Jimmy Johnson. His philosophy of running the football, playing close to the vest and winning the game in the 4th quarter is a loser's mentality.

If Jimmy is coaching this football team today, they are a better team, period.

Having said that, it's time that we let all this Jimmy talk die. Put me at the top of the list of people who'd like to see him back here, but it just isn't going to happen.

Of course it was hence the.

We have so many more problems on the Cowboys to worry about than Owens it's not even funny.

Technically, I suspect you're right. TO would likely not have AS MANY drops as he has in the past if not for his bum finger. However, he has been known as a pass-dropper his entire career. It is well-documented that Jones and Parcells knew about it before deciding to sign him.

He just waited until he got here to really start dropping the good stuff. Say what you want about "60 minutes" and "it's a team sport" but it's also highly likely that if he hangs on to the ball in Washington that we win the division, and I can think of several balls in the both the other games against NY and Philly that might have made a difference.

Why are people apologizing for this guy? He was brought here as the final piece of the Super Bowl puzzle. Anything short of that (and IMO his behavior this year has been well short of "super") and he should hit the streets. Let's give him time to make a sucker out of yet another team.

and yet.....60% of our championships come from one Jerry Jones.

Way to think for yourself.

Baaa.

You actually attribute those to Jerry? :lmao2:

Jerry hired his old college buddy and watched from his sky box as Jimmy built a winner. Switzer then inherited the 2 time defending world champions and was able to watch from the sidelines as they managed to win one more before running on fumes wasn't enough.

Jerry and his personnel prowess then managed to completely run the organization into the ground to where we are just now finally trying to win our first playoff game in a decade.

The best thing Jerry can do is step back and let a professional do his job.

Had columbo not missed a block we likely would have won as well. But he is part of the team.

Had they actually tackled taylor we likeley would have won.

But none of that happened. As for apologizing for him, I'm not. Just stating facts. He has a bum finger and if he didn't have it then it is likely he would not have as many drops.

Also, if you think we were just one player away from the Super Bowl last year (being the final piece of the puzzle) then you have not been watching this team for any length of time.

Also, just exactly what did he do that caused a distraction? The sleeping thing? The spitting thing? The blew over in like a day.

Compared to the demon possesed guy we were led to belive he was before he got here, I think he's been pretty good.

LOL !! Nailed that one didn't ya?

People need to realize just how long Jones has been here and how many SB's that GM has wrangled.

I agree that TO will be gone next year. When asked if next year it was either Bill or TO, Jerry said that the two had nothing to do with each other and that the decision would be his. He didn't say which decision, but it just sounded like he is willing to let TO go regardless of Bill's opinion on the issue.

This is a great thread. So great, I can just sit back and read, I don't have to say a word. Oh wait....

Yeah it is also likely we could be 15-0 if it wasnt for others screwing up.

The game is 60 minutes and it is a team sport no matter how you slice it.

Because of these 2 FACTS you cannot put the blame on 1 man for any of our losses.

We are not apologizing for the player.

We are simply telling some of you how this game works.

There are countless errors through out the game besides TOs.

This guy is just under a microscope and people like you and ESPN love to blow it all up.

If we want to be that critical of players then be critical of EVERYONE.

But, I fear Jerry will just promote Zimmer

Then I believe you, me and everyone in the free world underestimated how big of a fool he really is.

I cannot, no, I will not, even imagine that happening. Last night should have solidified exactly how inconsequential a coach like Mike Zimmer is to the Dallas Cowboys. He needs to be brushed away like dandruff, not promoted.

If that is the case, we all might as well just forget about a Super Bowl until he visits the pearly gates and lets his more intelligent son inherit the kingdom.
