4 games. That should be the last we hear of it. Seriously. I already see that some people say it should be 2. Stop it. It's sickening. And I know there's two sides to the story and this is not the forum for arguing about the situation. But he's lucky it got reduced that much. He still is going to make alot of money and help this team win. They are a legitimate Super Bowl contender especially having him for 12 games, Because he's a very good player. But to me, He's getting off pretty easy and I also know that he makes the Cowboys a better team

Sorry if this was covered already (I didn't look at the other nine pages yet), but now the Cowboys know what Hardy's cap hit will be (I believe roughly $8.8 million).

With this settled, maybe the Dez deal gets expedited??? Just a hopeful thought.

You know, this is a good post and I never even thought about that. Now that the Cowboys know what they can afford with Hardy, maybe now they can work out a deal with Dez?

You look to be right there.

He was at 3.2m and now will add 10 games at 580k per(2 games already counted from last year)= 9m

He still has up to 1.8m in sack incentives, but those would be counted after the season if reached.

Dallas is at 11.5m under the cap, so minus the new 5.8m would leave them around 5.7m if the 4 games stand

A new deal with Dez would significantly lower his cap hit this year.

He is at 12.8m right now. If he signed with a 25m bonus and 1m salary his cap hit would be 6m.

I was wondering about that, but did not want to ask because I don't know or follow the cap. So, if a Dez deal does get done, does that give some cap relief for the Boyz this season to maybe sign others?

If you are correct then signing Tyrone Crawford long term would make sense.

I don't know how this works. So if he decides to appeal and the appeal loses, could he get 10 games again? If so, I wouldn't risk it. 4 games isn't bad.

It wasn't sickening when the NFL punished players for decades in the old manner, yet apparently an ALLEGED, I REPEAT ALLEGED and just for you I'll repeat it again ALLEGED domestic violence offender in Hardy wanting what was collectively bargained is sickening? You have absolutely ZERO inside knowledge of what occurred that night, and you sure as hell don't know enough to be certain one way or another. Damn sure not enough to say how "lucky" he is or or how "sickening" it is. What exactly was the point of saying "theres two sides to every story" if you're just going to turn around and impose your own verdict without all the facts?

Being guilty in the public eye means jack, and this collective group think junk that's going on in this country right now is whats truly sickening.

Well, they have 5 days to figure it out, but I don't see how this really impacts that.

Right now Dez will have a cap hit of just under $13 million. If they signed him to a long term deal, it would most likely have a big signing bonus and a small 2015 base salary. Something like a $35 million signing bonus and a $1 million 2015 salary would reduce his cap number to $8 million for this year

You of all people should know that I have not been one to just jump in and take the majority opinion.

Having said that, the majority opinion (outside the Metroplex, that is) is that Hardy is guilty. Heck, there is a lot of opinion in the Metroplex that he is guilty. Jerry took some heat for this signing in the local media. That guy on channel 8 comes to mind, the man went off!

So media anecdotes are what you have? You still don't get to speak for anyone but yourself. If you would like to give some poll information or the like then sure but all you have done to this point is double down on teh same thing.
