the mob is the best place to make judgments. while you might like to speak for others, you don't get to. That last statement certainly applies to yourself though.

I love people that think that everyone else thinks just like them. I guess that is what is easy for me. very few people think like I do so I can avoid that particular hubris.
You of all people should know that I have not been one to just jump in and take the majority opinion.

Having said that, the majority opinion (outside the Metroplex, that is) is that Hardy is guilty. Heck, there is a lot of opinion in the Metroplex that he is guilty. Jerry took some heat for this signing in the local media. That guy on channel 8 comes to mind, the man went off!

That? That's nothing for Suggs. Heck, the Ravens' Suggs would be banned for life in comparison according to rumors of what he did to his woman.
+1.... I've been saying for a year now that Suggs makes Rice look like a boy scout. It amazes me how Suggs is the media darling he is. Just shows how much the hypocritical media loves a guy who smiles nice for the camera (or, in Suggs case, smiles for the camera)

Anyone that reads the facts agrees there's a strong argument for reasonable doubt, internet lawyer.
Is the Judge who found Hardy guilty beyond a reasonable doubt just an internet lawyer too?

Actually you did jump in and take a majority opinion... of the New England Patriot Fan base.

It's all about timing. Suggs' story got passed over for whatever reason. Rice's videos didn't help either.

Few weeks ago I suggested the league would do exactly this and reduce to 4 games which likely doesn't result in Hardy taking them to court.

People in this forum love anecdotal evidence, so I am giving anecdotal evidence of the local media being opposed to this signing and of the opinion that Hardy is guilty.

And a minority opinion in this forum as well as nationwide.

Oh wait, I haven't conducted a formal nationwide poll on the matter so I guess I am not allowed to speak to that point.

This is good news, but probably a precursor to Brady's being eliminated completely.

Somehow, I think both guys will be playing in that game.

That said, why wouldn't Hardy take this to court anyway? Worst case scenario, he loses and serves his four games. Best case he misses no games and make over $2 million more.

I would be offended if Brady wasn't in game against Cowboys. I don't want any excuses.

I would like to know if this was negotiated or not.

I wouldn't just give up my appeal if I was Hardy.

I would push for a deal that made the games missed last year count as time served and pay a 4 game fine of 3m. Then I would drop all appeals. That might save the League and NFLPA a lot of lawyer fees.

It is basically how they are handling Peterson's appeal at this point. He already missed the games and they are just arguing over the fine.

Screw the media! If you need the media to influence you about anything, you need to turn the TV off.

By the way, there are an equal amount of people that think otherwise.

Hardy is making close to a million dollars per game? I would think money could be a factor in him wanting to go to court to further reduce the suspension.
