Not really, if the guns weren't legally owned, we would have heard about it. And to my knowledge, Holder never claimed he brandished the guns, so all in all it is one incident and should be treated that way.
And fwiw, the NFL would get killed if they negotiated him giving back 4 game checks, and missing no games this year. If I'm them, I make a judge order me to do that, which I doubt will happen.
The NFL and Holder are saying the guns were present during the fight. She said she was thrown onto a bed of guns. No one ever said he brandished one but they are saying the guns are part of the suspension.
As far as the compromise, they are already doing it with the Peterson case. They could say the Doty appeal, the Contempt charges by the NFLPA and the potential Hardy appeal are all being resolved by the compromise. The Courts, Hardy, the NFLPA and League could all live with it but not love it. That is a good compromise.
