Has anyone noticed the average football fan doesn't realize Romo has won a playoff game?

Lol! It really is almost a phenomenon. Tony Romo has played well...even great more often than not, been a stand up guy off the field. Has better stats than most QB's in the storied history of his team... but very few are willing to give him any credit. It really is incredible. Because of a bad choice here and there (happens to all of them by the way) some int's at some of the worst moments (more often than not at times when it was forced on him to make a play or lose the game!) Again...has happened to all QB's in the NFL but for some reason most are given a pass but Tony Romo is crucified for it. ??? Just don't understand it! LOL

I talked to one supposed Cowboys fan who seemed to think the year we went 13-3 that we lost all three games in December :p

considering 2/3 of our losses came in December...it's not THAT embarrassing

Someone who considers himself a Cowboy fan said that at my house the other day. I just kind of politely reminded him that , yes, Dallas has been to the 2nd round of the playoffs twice with Romo--one via a bye and one following a WC win vs Philly.
He just said..."oh".

As for the Seattle special teams flub by Romo....that took place his nearly 9 years ago and in his 1st year as a starter...that's always been a head-scratcher anyway. As a QB, with he game on the line, he made play after play to get them in that position. They were inches from a first down inside the 2 yard line and may have gotten it if there was instant replay for that stuff back then. He didn't all of a sudden choke because he was a special teams holder. silliness....and a lifetime ago anyway.

Oh well, maybe they can win one or two this year to continue this turnaround.

They also conveniently ignore some facts on that play. One: Romo was not playing as a quarterback on that play. He was only the holder because he started the year as the backup, and the holder job was the backup's job. Two: Seattle actually cheated on that play. They brought in a brand-new slick ball that had not been properly broken in hoping that it would be slippery enough to be bobbled. They admitted this on a Seattle radio show. And, of course, as you state, that was 9 years ago. He's had a lot of time to get better since then.

One playoff win isn't enough for the Tony haters, until he wins a sb, or at least gets to one, they will be there.

Oh don't let them fool you, he better win one. Even then, for some of them, he better be amazing. Even then, for the absolute worst of them, they'll give credit to everyone else first.

They would call him a choke artist even if he got to the NFC Championship and had the team in the lead by 4 points with 50 seconds left and the defense gave up a Hail Mary TD.

For the slick ball alone, I want him to have the chance to end their playoff run.

The Seattle d line looked like they met their daddies as that game went on earlier this season.

They also changed the kicking ball rules during that offseason specifically to address what Seattle did in that playoff game. I believe teams get to bring their own kicking balls now and are not subject to play with whichever ball the home team decides to put in play. The fact that they got away with doing that always bothered me. It also bothered me that the long snapper didn't notice it and do something about it.

That Tony Romo HAS actually won a playoff game? Now that we're postseason relevant again, I'm noticing this awful omission from the average football fan. Barbershop, water cooler, even some TV pundits seem to miss this as they STILL ramble on about "how he can't win in the playoffs....will choke.. etc.." Even more maddening is the Seattle bobbled snap is STILL being brought up... Lol. Am I the only one noticing that people miss this about Romo? I find it laughable.

he just needs to win this year in playoffs. The rest will take care of itself.

Exactly SB anytime someone like SAS say that Mark Sanchez is comparable to Romo needs to be punched in the face seriously. And I found this out from a fellow Cowboys fan friend of mine who says he watches First Take just to see SAS make a fool of himself and he also knows the vast disdain I have for that abomination of a show and refuse to watch whether the Cowboys win or not. As you well know a lot of lazy fans of the Cowboys, or other teams actually would believe that Sanchez is similar to Romo because SAS said so and we both know that Sanchez is nowhere near the QB Romo is and the Eagles would sell their own mother to have him at QB. This internet age make most of us lazy and pretentious when it comes to critical analysis as you say well done.

Love it.
The reasons people give for validating ignorance (SAS).

...and I have pictures from back in the day when he used to cover AI for the Sixers. Watching the games from VIP, chatting...I used to admire him. We even communicated via email. The more mainstream he became the more silly he became.

There was a botched attempt to end a game against Washington earlier that year. Special teams were an adventure that year. It would have helped if Romo didn't receive a greased pig before the kick attempt at Seattle.

What really sucked was after he picked it up and ran I thought we might get in for a TD, then he got tackled short and I realized we just needed a first down, but we came up just short of that. That could've been a major difference maker, especially since we were playing well the 2nd half of that year and BP may have come back and saved us from Wade, at least for a year or two.

I think a lot of analysts have taken notice. He has been playing like an mvp. It's being noticed now. He just needs to keep this going.
