Video: Should Dak Prescott be concerned with Joe Milton joining the Cowboys?

It supports your stance Ezekiel Elliott was seen as a significant offensive contributor in his rookie year according to the Associated Press. It neither diminishes nor dismisses Dak Prescott's offensive rookie contributions, which were also recognized by the AP.

In short, what it does is fit each differing opinion within a more comprehensive and balanced perspective for discussion purposes. Or, at least it tries too, lol.
No doubt, but the issue is that just as you caution overreach on my claims...claiming that Dak "carried" the team when the guy who literally carried the ball for more yards than anyone and dominated the NFL was on his team is more than disingenuous. Dak was carried by a veteran team of talented players which included Zeke. When Dak didn't have Zeke the next year...he looked pretty much as he looks in the playoffs.

The ONLY way Milton sees the field during the regular season is as a situational QB for a play or two or if Dak gets injured. That’s assuming he ends up the backup.
....I see your point, valid too. Dak is making huge Lotto money.

The Jones want wins, of course. Should Dak stink up the joint, *hopefully not*.

I can see Milton taking helm. Whether he'll be good nor not? ...Idk.. ;).

All depends on how Milton looks in camp. If he struggles the Cowboys would probably add a veteran before week one to cover themselves for a potential Dak injury. Also can't totally count out Grier, but he's probably going back to the practice squad.
True. I would expect the Cowboys to look for a veteran QB after camp if Milton struggles.

I think you ain't wrong. :)
You ask me how i really feel. I ask you what do you think. Thats your answer ?

I dont feel any different than the way i explained it in my post. And i think i explained my thoughts very well. Maybe i am wrong ?!

Or do you think i magically tried to transport some message between the lines ? I do that sometimes. But this times i tried to be very precise.

Milton would have to light it up, stringing together win after win to keep Dak on the bench if he’s ready to return from an injury. Some fans here already seemed convinced Milton is better than Dak and is our QB of the future. They thought the same thing when we traded for Lance. lol
Dak is washed. He will be lucky to get through a season without an injury. If they get in the playoffs we know whats going to happen. I don't think Milton is the answer. I hope he becomes a franchise QB, but I think will be just a backup. I think people just hope Milton will be the guy. After year 10 we know Dak isn't getting the Cowboys deep into the playoffs.

Um...dude. you were very precise. Cutting. Honest. And pretty accurate IMHO.

When i said "tell us how you really feel"....I forgot the sarcasm button, but I actually didn't think we needed it. Seemed like a pretty common reaction.

Not sure how you missed it, or why you are so defensive. My apologies.

Again...Mr. Rain...think about what you just said. What kind of team do those high draft picks go to? Really crappy...high drafting teams. So OF COURSE they can't perform as well.

It's a very rare situation. ....But rookies burrow, CJ, Daniels...on a fully loaded divisional champion...and see what happens.

And the contrary is put Dak on the Bengals...see what happens.

It's all moot of course, but I think the best tactic is for the extremes to dial back. We certainly CAN and SHOULD give Dak some credit for a nice rookie year...but certainly NOT a usual situation for a rook. The TEAM...a GOOD team not a crappy perennial loser... helped Dak succeed...plain and simple.
The team had some good parts it had a great offensive line and a great running game.

But as always we were a couple pieces short of completing the puzzle coaching and defense.

So again Mr Steve I will tell you it doesn't matter if it's Tony Romo Dak, Joe Milton Dan Marino or John elway until Jerry decides to build the team properly no one is going to be successful.

We are always a few pieces short of being able to compete deep in the playoffs

After 30 years we know Jerry isn't getting the Cowboys deep in the playoffs
He specializes in keeping us a few players and a coach short

That's what I tried to tell AC. There is merit in crediting both. We shouldn't uncivilly quibble about awards.

I think you can credit Dak...AND "THE TEAM"...because as AC ....sometimes says (during a loss)...it's a team game.

We certainly should account for the good team Dak started for...a team most rookie QB's don't get to QB.
There's also merit in crediting the offensive line. Probably most dominant we've had since the Great Wall.
Three players first team All pro.

Without that offensive line neither player would have had the year they had let's just give credit where the real credit is due

Listening to some in the Dallas media they think the Cowboys will sign a veteran QB. However, It would before camp.
Probably. I just would wait because if we sign a vet then we're going to want to give him playing time to learn the system, which takes first-quarter snaps away from Milton in the preseason. I'd rather take a long look at Milton and then make a move if it's needed. That does limit our options, but it doesn't mean we won't be able to find a vet later in camp.

Dak's contract says he's not concerned about any QB taking his job, but he should be.
