As a season ticket holder who's also been to 8 other stadiums, you're right. It's Jerry's fault, though. 20-30% of any game are people who don't care about football, were given tickets by their company, and are only there to be seen. With that said, I thought about selling mine because it's the playoffs, and we all know what happens in the playoffs.
I think you should sell your tickets. Show the Cowboys you mean business!!!

It is amazing the amount of misinformation promulgated by people that probably have never attended a Cowboys game at AT&T Stadium or Texas Stadium before it.

I’ve been to all playoff games since I first got season tickets in 1989 and go to a minimum of 6 regular season games (went to all this year). Other than during periods when the team isucks and is non-competitive (e.g., Campo years) it is absolutely wrong that any visiting team’s fans take over the stadium. The game Sunday is sold out and it will virtually be all Cowboys fans. I expect it to be as loud as it was at the 2016 playoff game, which was electric.

Dak and some of the players mentioned that the Detroit game was about as crazy as they’ve been to so I hope all you Jimmy Johnson fans come back! LOL

There is a chance I’m going to San Francisco if they play away at the championship game. Like @LonnieElam though, I don’t want to spend that much money only to see a #@$%@#$ embarrassment. My wife who is not a football fan at all with a neutral stance, thinks it’s a total waste of money because she sees how they bomb every year lol.

The Eagles game was up there with the loudest regular season games. Probably the loudest regular season game at AT&T was the Thursday night game a few years back against the Saints when they were 10-1 and I did my part. The lady in front of me thanked me and my grandson for her $1000 headache. I’m usually hoarse at the first of the season until my throat gets into fan shape after a couple of games.

Well, tell your wife they’ll continue to bomb until they don’t. I think this is the year the don’t.

Only tickets available are secondary market. They released some party passes(SRO) this morning at 10. Any other tickets you find on sites like SeatGeek\Ticketmaster are being sold by season ticket holders and brokers so yes the game is sold out.

I don't agree that there will be a ton of Packers fans there. It's tough to put together a plan to get to a playoff game in less than a week. People look at a regular season game where Packers fans or 49ers fans or Steeler fans have a ton of time to get tickets and make travel plans and end up with a ton of people in the crowd. The playoffs are a different thing altogether.

I went back and looked at my pictures from when we played the 49ers two years ago. There were definitely some 9er fans there, but not more than 10-15%, and that's another fan base that typically travels well.

I've been to every playoff game at AT&T stadium and they are all a great environment. That 49er game went south quickly, so that was probably the worst crowd, but I would blame the team more than the crowd for that one. Not much to cheer for.

Went to the Cowboys/Eagles game earlier this year and the crowd was fantastic for that.
What a lot of fans as well as the media tend to miss or ignore is the proximity of non-Cowboys fans to AT&T stadium.

Some of the old school teams like the Steelers, Packers, etc. have a lot of fans all over the country, so many of them do not have to travel far to go to games at AT&T stadium.

Other teams like the 49ers have a large number of fans in Austin because a lot of northern California companies moved their operations to the Austin area (aka: Silicon Hills) over the last 15-20 years.

Of course some diehard fans of Cowboys opponents are going to travel to AT&T stadium if their team is playing there, especially if their team does not make the playoffs very often, because it is one of the nicer stadiums and it is not too far from DFW airport, which is a hub airport.

In any case, I think most Cowboys fans assume the stadium crowd is quiet because you do not hear a loud crowd when watching games on TV compared to other stadiums, but that's because the recording equipment is farther away and/or more sound isolated than it is in some of the older stadiums.

It seems like every time someone reports from a Cowboys game they went to at AT&T stadium they mention how loud the crowd was during the game.

Yep, like I brought up on last page. Texas, Florida, Arizona…. Transplant city. Especially the retiree states full of New England teams. It’s most obvious in the baseball games. Can’t put 10,000 people in stands but can pack it out for Yankees or Red Sox. Most of those retiree transplants grew up as Yankee or Red Sox fans and wanted sunshine. I wonder if Atlanta starting become like that?

I grew up in Dallas, I know what I’m talking about, it’s not like the Midwest or Northeast where you have generations of families in most of your residents. There’s a crap load of people that have moved into Texas lately. It’s the worst in a state like Florida, where they can’t even sell out their baseball stadiums because everyone is a Yankees, Red Sox, or Phillies fan. So my point is even though it’s a giant metroplex, don’t get onto Dallas because I’m sure a large majority of the residents didn’t even grow up as Cowboys fans. If anything, the guy criticizing the local should be criticizing themselves. How is the team like Green Bay able to get that many fans that far? Where are the freaking traveling Cowboys fans?
I was born and raised in South Irving, and you're wrong. Are there a lot of transplants? Yes, but to say the majority here aren't Cowboys fans is dead wrong.

Not the majority, but there are big chunks of transplants from throughout the country. Matters which area you live in. Enough home town fans to fill a stadium though, that's for sure. And unfortunately, as Reality wrote, enough to sometimes make some embarrassing color dents. I've been living everywhere but Dallas last 20 years so mostly have caught my Cowboys games away. There were definitely some bad games though at home during Campo/Garrett years. Steelers is one that comes to mind. Shocked me how many black and yellow were in one of their regular season games. Far, small, city. Only thing that could explain it is all the transplants that were already nearby.

I'm a die hard here, but once those scalpers get ahold of majority of those tickets....I know I can't afford it. Now if I'm filthy rich like Jerry I would be there because I would be retired and not having to work six days a week, but I work too hard to pay things now, and I'm definitely not putting myself where I can't keep my head above water. My 2024 resolution was to be debt free by September 2025. I intend to do just that!! :) Beside I probably would get a better view from home. LET"S GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO COWBOYS!!!!

..I would expect around 80K+, doubt it gets sold out.

Should Dallas advance to 1st round, probably 90K.
The thing averages close to 90,000 every single week on a regular season game why would you think they wouldn't fill up to at least normal capacity for a playoff game I don't get why you think that the place is full all the time.... Trust me Jerry and AT&T stadium does not have a problem putting a normal capacity crowd in no matter what's happening there...

Let’s not forget it did not look like the Cowboys were going to have a home playoff game. People out of state would need to book airline tickets with only a weeks notice. Those who fly know you need to book airline flight at least 14 days prior to fly date. So not only are ticket prices very high, so are flight tickets.

In another note, as a Cowboy season ticket holder I know that you have to agree to purchase playoff tickets on demand if they make the playoffs. Once it is known the Cowboys will have a home playoff game your credit card is billed for those tickets. Those who season ticket holders who don’t commit to purchase their tickets will have they tickets returned to the Dallas Cowboys. They in turn post those tickets on sites like ticket exchange. They hike the price way up and reduce the price every day until gametime. Tickets that were 1000.00 on Monday are now 700.00. By Friday those that have not sold will be down to 400 range.

There are tons of packer fans who live in DFW and the chance to see their team in the playoffs without having to travel is a huge motivator.

While the season tickets are typically owned by Cowboy fans, many of them sell playoff tickets or big regular season games, to pay for their license or just to make cash.

This is true. Selling playoff tickets can pay for your whole season of tickets next year. But lets not forget season ticket holders also have to pay "seat option" fees on top of the season ticket prices. So for example, If each ticket sells for 200.00 per ticket. The season ticket holder had to pay almost the same amount in the seat option. So just because the ticket says 200.00 it probably really cost 400.00. But that same 200.00 ticket can go for 600.00-1200.00 during playoffs or premium games.
