Has Morris Claiborne already played his last game in Dallas?

I noticed Claiborne is out again this week. I'm going to take a guess and assume he won't play in the final game either.

If so, he final stat lines will look like as follows:

2015

11 games played
5 game missed due to injury
37 tackles
7 passes defensed
0 interceptions

His 'average' season when looking across the first 4 years of his career:

10 games played (40 total)
6 games missed (24 total)
25 tackles (102 total)
5.5 passes defensed (22 total)
0.75 interceptions (3 total)

To date he has been one of the bigger busts in Cowboys history. He did come back and play 'OK' this year, when he wasn't injured.

I know there is a sentiment to bring him back on cheap contract, however, my thoughts at this point is that's it probably best for both teams for him to depart for a change of venue.

Had Claiborne not missed significant time again this year I may have favored bringing him back, however, given his injuries again this season I'd vote against it.

What are your thoughts on Mi?

I'd prefer him back on a cheap deal with upside for him.

But I think he could end up being another Pacman or Newman who flourishes away from here after we gave up too early.

I will not cry either way. He's had plenty of chances.

The best CB to come out since Deion?

Nah, Jerry will sign him to a sweet deal.

While I'd like this to be his last season with the Cowboys, who replaces him?

Newman spent 9 years with us which is an eternity for a NFL player. He was solid for us for years, his confidence got shot his last season and he was a cap casualty. We didn't give up too early, he played most of his second contract.

Claiborne is done in Dallas unless he's willing to sign a cheap one year deal for depth if the Cowboys are even willing to offer him that. He's been too injury prone and inconsistent to be counted on for anything more than a backup. There's probably at least one team out there that liked Claiborne coming out of college that will be willing to give him a chance so this year is likely the end for him with the Cowboys.

Let's hope so.

Who are we going to replace him with? As I said before, you can plug in an UDFA and get similar production. He's not that significant a player to be asking about replacements.

The way Newman looked with the Cowboys his final season with the team I would have never imagined he had 4 more seasons left in him with 8 INT's. Claiborne has only produced 3 INT's during that period.

I think he'll stay on a team-friendly deal that gives him opportunity to make money.

He hasn't done enough to get another team to overpay for him, but he does have upside and could help us.

He wasn't bad that last year until the stretch run. It looked like he got old overnight or something. If you really go back and look at that season I think you'd find that to be the case. After that everybody piled on him like he was the worst corner to ever play, but he just had a bad stretch of games rather than a completely horrible season.
