Has T.O. Lost a Step?

In watching our team this year, it seemed a big part of our problem is that we couldn't stretch the field to open up plays in the middle. So we struggled a bit with our rhythm.

Is part of the problem that T.O. has lost some of his quickness? Yes, I realized he put up big numbers. But the loss of Terry Glenn was only band aided together for a short while when players such as Patrick Crayton stepped up his game.

I think we need to draft a guy who can stretch the field. A burner. That guy Romo can look off the defender and throw deep to, because I think T.O. has lost a step.

Do you agree or disagree?

Didn't look like he lost a step to me. But hey lets go draft Louis Murphy why the hell not...

Oh, feel free to post a clip of him or a real fast receiver. Y'all know if we do get one, he'll be fast.

I disagree, with drafting a WR with a significant draft pick, our needs are stronger in the safety and DL with major changes on the horizon this off season. Hey not many teams have a better receiving core than we do, certainly only one in the Superbowl. But I can say we are lacking in Safety and DL to anyone in the playoffs. I think our OL had an injury year and that this season will be back to normal, with us moaning about false movements and need to get younger mantra. I feel the OL will be much better overall, these guys have been playing together for a long time.Tony had a bad year, it started in the Denver pre-season game where we all made excuses for his lack of precision and accuracy. The big joke was the rarified air made his ball jump and that was why he was able to out throw TO on some of his routes. We now know it was the attitude not altitude. I think we need a quality backup QB(although I hate to spend the money), we may have seen Tony at his best in 2007 and that means a different direction for the offense if he is not the long term solution. Now this year we start with Spencer's attitude, looks like a long off season. Time to stop whistling in the dark and reach up and turn on the light. Go Cowboys

I think we need a burner, someone to perhaps replace Crayton. Perhaps we could replace Crayton as a means to send a message to T.O.

Of course he has.

No matter how great of shape a person keeps himself in, common sense tells us that athletically, Terrell Owens at 35 is not the same as he was at 21.

However, I really don't think that is the proper question the Cowboys Organization should be asking.

The questions the Cowboys Organization should be asking are: Is Terrell Owens still a playmaker and one of the best Wide Receivers in the NFL and Is Terrell Owens worth $9.6 Million in 2009.

Personally, I believe Terrell Owens is still a playmaker and can help any team on the field. However, I don't believe Terrell Owens is worth $9.6 Million as neither his tangible and intangible skills are not that valuable.

Do you think he fits within the realm of the team's overall chemistry? You don't think that, by chance, removing him or reducing his role might make for a better offense?

Terry Glenn was our burner not TO. That has never been his game. JMO but we do need a burner because Glenn was never really replaced.

I also agree with us needing a Burner but Roy Williams is our future number 1, hopefully.

But we need a Felix Jones at Wide Receiver. Someone who can destroy you with 1 play if you're not careful. He doesn't have to get the ball all of the time, but when he does, he causes destruction to defenses.

Oh my, Felix Jones can really make this teams into something special, especially with T.O. and Williams. Add a burner for 3 WR set situations and we're in business. We have 2 great TEs already. Jones completes the puzzle, imo.

Q: How many steps has TO lost?

A: TO has lost so many steps that next year he will be running backwards. The step losses will result in negative yardage.

Someone please cue up some videos.

The one of TO catching up to and running step for step with the younger Felix Jones.

The one of chasing a DB and tackling him when TO was knocked down in endzone.

Any any other vids you got out there.

This is 2009. The 35 year old body is not the same 35 year old body as in 1999. Things have changed. AND TO is the exception to the rule.

Show me the video. I do not believe that T.O. can walk down a healthy Felix Jones--no way, no how.

"No way, No how?"

So you think he made that up? That he decided to lie to make a point?

I'm saying when healthy, there is no way T.O. can keep up with Felix Jones. That guy runs a 4.2 40. T.O. is not running that. I can tell that by watching. Like I said, show me the clip. Even then, it'd be hard to see until I witnessed it on a daily basis, given I've seen how fast Felix is when not hampered by injuries.

So now you are saying even if someone posts the video (which you can look for yourself, by the way) , you are still not gonna believe it.

You do know Jones suffered and injury that affected his mobility, don't you?

I'll remain skeptical until I see him do it next year. Until then, I stand by my observation that T.O. has lost a step.

Felix wasn't injured when he took it to the house for 60 yards against the Packers, was he?

I was gonna look for the video but you are already saying you wouldnt believe it even if I showed you.

I pass.

Actually I remember now... Felix was limping down the sidelines en route to scoring that TD. TO actually had enough time to grab a set of crutches that he brought to Felix and aided his limping into the endzone.

Thanks for jogging my memory.

If posters want to call TO on his negatives and shortcoming and nonsense - BY ALL MEANS. But to just run with the "party line" makes you look foolish.

I am pro TO and I STILL call him on his negatives and shortcoming and nonsense.

It doesn't appear TO has lost any striaght ahead speed.
But he has lost lateral quickness and general coordination, which is typical once you hit mid 30s.
