Has the board come to a consensus on Joseph Randle?

He's not as good as Murray or Dunbar but he's better than Tanner! If that gets Tanner off the roster, I'm cool being patient with him as a #3, as long as it means Phil isn't wasting a roster spot again next year.

I don't believe we will know much until he has at least one full off season under his belt.

I don't think that stuff applies to RB's.

I wouldn't invest a draft pick in a RB this year before the 5th round, I think what we've seen around the league is that these guys more or less grow on trees. Hell, I wouldn't draft a RB in the 1st round EVER. It's a complete waste of a valued pick.

I could say the same for WR's as well, actually, with only a few exceptions.

draft a running back? we have needs in so many other spots than this right now.

I'm fine with murray, randle and dunbar for now. fix safety, DL, and getting a QB at some point. demarco murray needs more time, and I'm sick of this team giving up on RBs after 1 or 2 years. thats why theres no stability and we are constantly .500. oh, and an idiot coach with a terrible DC.

thank god the offensive line looks to be somewhat solved.

that can help a lot of things. wait, we still have idiots calling plays.

Have we seen enough to know that he's not going to be a difference maker? The reason I ask is there are several posters in the Draft Zone ready to draft another running back this year. That would make 5 running backs drafted since '08...seems like a lot of resources on that position.

I didn't see anything in his play to keep Dallas from drafting one, but ... I don't really see the need to value it over other positions with Dunbar coming back from injury.

I'm for drafting a RB in the 4th or later. Randle has shown a few flashes. There's still some chance he'll pan out, but I'd like to see someone compete with him and with Tanner. I don't want to draft a RB in the earlier rounds because we have such pressing needs on defense.

It is quite hard to judge a rook...

Even Monte Ball this year didn't look too flashy in his limited time. Players take time adjusting, as well as their instincts.

I haven't seen too much out of him, but confidence has to grow in order for him to see his potential.

I also like Dunbar, but I wouldn't rule out the possibility of drafting a RB LATER in the rounds to keep young players from competing.

Rbs show you if they have "it" almost right away. He's nothing special, will be out of the league soon; Dunbar has shown that wiggle and quick twitch ability. A late round back in the mold of Murray would fill out the position nicely. Dunbar (scat/3rd down), Murray, and Murray's backup who should have similar attributes; no Felix compliments please, take the Mendenhall this time..

We need to replace both Randle and Tanner. All these other teams this weekend seemed to have multiple productive running backs who they can run out there all game long.

Dunbar is just too fragile to depend on, but he has skills so he gets another chance.

he turned out to be exactly what most felt he would be. A nice filler back who could start a game or two but is not true starter. Lacks breakaway speed and is not particularly quick or elusive. Has decent vision. He looks primed to have Tashard Choice type career.

We wouldn't be having this conversation if Joseph Randle had shown at least something to get some positive feedback over. If he had, we'd be raving about it and teeming with anticipation to see more of him. That hasn't been the case by any stretch of the imagination. When Randle was drafted, we were looking for someone who performed acceptably in every area. What the staff ended up with is someone who is just that -- acceptable at everything but not really exceptional at anything. Can anyone honestly say they're excited about this guy and what he brings to the table? Are we collectively clamoring to see more of him? I'm surely not getting that impression.

This team needs to build in the trenches on both sides of the ball. The Murray/ Dunbar /randle combo is good enough to get the job done . It's not like we are gonna run teams into submission with our current scheme.
We all complained about the TE selection last yr in round two ( with good reason) . I would not take a running back before the late rounds in this draft...
I would like to see some big physical lineman taken in the first few rounds

He sucks. Running backs don't need time to develop. You can either run or you can't. It's not like wr

tell that to josh thomas.

if a player can't play, i'd rather we cut the cord quickly. let's not start another arkin situation.

Quick... did Jay Ratliff flash as a rookie? Did Scandrick? Romo? Hatcher?

You saw young, raw players needing to be refined. It took more than one year and it definitely took more than 54 plays. I bet 3/4 of this board 3 years ago swore Hatcher would never be nothing more than a JAG and now he's about to get paid. Players develop and it takes time.
