Has there ever been a 11-1 team

It's a easy prediction to make. The odds are good that they will be right and it goes for any team in the playoffs.

This is false. You are then assuming every team who enters the playoffs has the same probability to make it. They don't. This isn't MLB or NHL where the playoffs can be a crapshoot. Seattle and Dallas are the only 2 teams I see making it in the NFC. And Dallas is better than Seattle. So our odds of making it to the SB are much better than us not making it at this point.

Any party who looks at our defense would NOT pick us to make the Super Bowl. I'm not saying we won't make it, we certainly can, but our team is just not well rounded.

Tell me about all the juggernaut defenses in the NFC. I'll wait...

Not being well rounded is one of the most asinine statements I've heard about this season. Our offense is probably the most efficient offense in this league. Our special teams, especially kicker and punter is great. Our defense has never, ever let a game get away. And frankly, kept us in games if our offense was sputtering. They have made the stops when we needed them to get off the field.

Name me a more well rounded team in the NFC.

Falcons and Skins defense is much worse than ours. Skins also have no run game.
Seahawks defense is better but their OL and run game is terrible.
Packers defense is junk. OL and run game are non existent.
Buccs offense is very pedestrian.
Our offense is much more efficient than the Giants. Did you see them against the Steelers?

There is a reason we are 11-1 and in the top tier in the NFC. By ourselves.

6 NFC teams make the playoffs.

So you're taking 5 other teams to make it to the Superbowl over Dallas.

If you're betting you would always take the field vs 1 team just because the odds would be better that 1 of those 5 teams has a better chance at getting to the Superbowl over Dallas.

Dallas is the best team imo in the NFC. Don't get me wrong.

I've heard several radio guys who still don't think the Cowboys make it to the Super Bowl. Has there ever been any other team with a record like this not get a lot of respect?
They were not 11-1, but nobody thought the 92 Cowboy would go to the Super Bowl at this point in the season.

And the big bad Raiders just got ran all over by the Bills.

Seattle allows 100 yard rushing a game.

Salary cap football.....

You think we have a "much" better than 50% chance of making the SB? Just 50% implies a better than 70% chance of winning each playoff game. Or something like an 83% chance of winning the first and a 60% chance of winning the second. I think that's very optimistic.

If every team had the same probability to win each game, we'd be at 25% (assuming the bye). I agree that our odds are significantly better than that. But not twice as good.

It is all about the defense and lack of pass rush. If the defense does not have you worried about our chances, you have not been watching.

Top defenses tend to win in the playoffs.

Ask Arizona how that defense is doing for them. The only "Championship" defense in this year playoffs might be the Denver Broncos and it is doubtful they can make it to the Superbowl. Seattle took a huge hit by losing Earl Thomas

All of the really good defensive teams probably won't make the playoffs. Maybe the Broncos get in.

Seattle plays good defense. I won't disrespect them and say they don't.

But their defense gives up 100 yards on the ground a game and they just lost Earl Thomas.

Only worried if our run d falters, and our secondary gets another lengthy injury (playoffs).

But who is?

It's like they only watch the Cowboys.

Their definition of "well rounded" means a good defense with holes all over their offensive line and throughout parts of the offense.

I think the ghosts of 07 are making certain fans cautious of a Super Bowl run.

But this is an entirely different situation/team.

I guess well rounded means the Broncos SB team. Great d, terrible offense. Very well rounded.

2007 is a good example where defense won out over one of the best offenses in NFL history (Giants versus Patriots I mean)

If you'll read my statement I said that you have no evidence that it is hindering US.. By US I mean the Cowboys.

I can't help if other teams didn't get this type of performance from a rookie but he's playing at a uncommon level and there is no evidence at all that he is hindering us.

I understand your point. Having said that, I think the context of this discussion has to be taken into consideration. We're talking about Dak and his fantastic rookie year because we hope it leads to bigger and better things this year, namely a Super Bowl appearance and a Super Bowl victory.
We can say it hasn't hindered us now, but if we look at history, rookie quarterbacks haven't fared well as it relates to taking their teams to Super Bowls.
Which is why I said, yes, there is no evidence Dak has hindered us. But history says that rookie quarterbacks fall short of their goal.
I hope I'm wrong.

No I don't hear that stuff outside of maybe fan comments. And who would say he doesn't throw down field? Doesn't he have one of the highest yards/attempt in the league? lol
I used to hear that but I don't much anymore except for around here. lol

I don't really care about records. When the Texans, Titans and Falcons went 13-3, I wasn't expecting them to go very far in the playoffs. I was right. Any team that goes 11-1 definitely deserves respect, but you're fooling yourself if you don't think we can be beat. Even if we do win the Super Bowl, we still need to make a lot of improvements. I'm confident the few improvements we need to make on offense will come naturally as Dak and Zeke gain experience. The defense, on the other hand, is a big question mark now and in the future. We'll need to win in spite of them. Seems to have been the story for the past 5-10 years.

Didn't we go 12-1 and fart away a chance at the big dance? We lost our first playoff game. What a joke !!!
