I've heard several radio guys who still don't think the Cowboys make it to the Super Bowl. Has there ever been any other team with a record like this not get a lot of respect?

The 2011 Packers come to mind. They started 13-0 and ultimately went 15-1 with no running back over 600 yard rushing and a horrific defense that gave up nearly 6500 yards.

All season long the common refrain was their defense would ultimately be their undoing and it no longer than their 1st playoff game when they got beat handily by the Giants at Lambeau.

We got wayyyy more respect in '07 at the height of our season (12-1). People were penciling us in the SB along with the Pats...

You know what, I'm fine with being the underdogs, let them keep doubting

Has there ever been an 11-1 team lead by a rookie QB and RB? I'm not convinced we make the Superbow this year, but I'm also not too concerned about it as this team has the building blocks to be great for a very long time a la New England.

Having a rookie RB is a non factor. The younger the better.

Rookie QB.. Ok... But you have no evidence that it is hindering us in any way.

Dallas has as good or better of a chance as anybody. That's all there is to it.

Take it day by day as Dak says. Future will play itself out.

Vegas has a pretty good idea. They tend to be better than the talking head since $$$$ is involved.

New England Patriots 8-1 6-1 7-5
Dallas Cowboys 14-1 25-1 4
Seattle Seahawks 8-1 8-1 7
Oakland Raiders 50-1 20-1 12
Pittsburgh Steelers 8-1 10-1 14
Atlanta Falcons 40-1 80-1 14
Kansas City Chiefs 20-1 20-1 18

You had a defense that year

For whatever reason, a lot of people think we are a gimmick team.

They aren't sold on a "rookie" QB and are waiting for him to wet the bed.

What they fail to realize is that this style of play has worked at different times throughout NFL history.

So whatever, let them doubt us. Let them say we've played a weak schedule. Let them say it's all because we have a good offensive line.

I wonder what they'll say in February when this "rookie, game-managing QB, who hasn't played quality opponents, and is successful because of his line" is preparing to play in the Super Bowl?

***knock on wood***

First off, opinions are like a--holes, everyone has one but There's good reason for that skepticism, The Cowboy defense isn't great!

They are ranked 1st or 2nd in every single poll I've seen.

That 2007 team started out 12-1 and were top 10 in both offense and defense. They deserved consideration as the potential NFC team in the Superbowl.

I think this years 2016 club is getting plenty of respect, frankly, as well.

I've never heard anyone suggest this is a gimmick team. The knock against us making the superbowl is almost always the same. We don't have the defense.

This lack of respect angle is laughable.

The Cowboys are like #1 or #2 in almost every power poll out there. I can find articles on Fox and other websites praising the team, Dak, etc.

But as soon as a negative article comes out or one that suggests we might not be great or have a flaw or two and people pound the disrespect drum.

Maybe "gimmick" is a bad choice of wording.

But I'm sure you've heard them talk about more than just a bad defense. Rookie QB who doesn't throw down field, never has to play from behind, relies too heavily on success in the run game. All of the above.
