I think it would be a foolish rush to draft Gurly at #27. He will be coming off a major leg injury. I like Gurley, but I just don't like the idea of using a first on a guy who probably won't be available early in the season.
I disagree with you here. The ONLY reason Gurly drops to 27 is because of his injury and probably won't contribute until mid season. If Gurly is healthy he is a top 15 pick probably. We will never get a sniff.
If we don't resign Murray then drafting Gurly isn't the worst thing we can do at 27. I rather have the #1 RB than the 5-7 DE in a class that's average.
Drafting a RB in the 1st or 2nd ensures cheap labor for 4-5 yrs and you can devote the $$ in FA defensive player. And you know it's much more of a gamble drafting DL than RB in the draft.
