Hate to say it, but looks like Jeanty has a excellent chance to become a Cowboy!

I’m not so convinced. He also won’t be on a rookie contract any longer
He hasn't done enough to earn a massive payday, but regardless he has shown enough that he could be part of a good RB tandem next year.

Earned the right? He did it the last two weeks against two of the worst defenses.
If we get in the top 10, I would skip drafting a running back because their should be good backs available early in the second and third rounds. It gets tricky if we end up out of the top 12 I believe. Let’s see what Dowdle does against better competition.

I am interested in seeing how he does against both Tampa and Philly who have legitimate run defenses. Fine passing on Jeanty in the 1st rd, but will they?

I can live with him as a #2 back, especially if he takes less then 3 million to sign, but not as our primary back.

Cost will decide his future with the team, if they wouldn't spend 4 million on Zach Moss who is a better back, will they for Dowdle?
How is Moss better? In his first full year starting Rico has put up better numbers than Moss ever has…behind a backup OL and playing with a bottom 5 QB in football.

I will be honest. I am glad I don’t have to make that decision. I have watched 10 backs and Jeanty is clearly the best. I would love to take Henderson in the late second early 3rd but he is always banged up but Rico would pair well with him. I just wish one of those 1 techs could fall in the 40s but I doubt it.

Really do not like Henderson myself, due to his lack of vision and like you said his durability. Really like the next two after Jeanty: Johnson/Hampton.

Can’t fault your doubt’s about Henderson. I just remember his freshman season when he looked like he was going to be special. I think Hampton and Johnson lack breakaway speed. They are good backs but we need a game breaker. I really need to see Jeanty against a legitimate college defense.

That's cute, you think the staff gets to select who they want to have on the roster/playing time.
Staff has an input with the draft, you figure they have the same with the roster. For example, Kendricks was brought in by Zimmer

Go watch Hampton, he is very similar to Murray. We will see Jeanty in the playoffs, but he did run for close to 200 yards and 3 TD's against Oregon this yr.

Jeanty is legit but Oregon’s defense is not an SEC defense, or Ohio State/Penn state. Hampton and Johnson are solid but they lack burst. To me at running back, it’s Jeanty then a big drop off. Hampton and Johnson are 2nd round picks at the end of the round to me.

You will be surprised that 1 other back will be drafted on day 1.

I agree on Johnson…I think he’ll be a solid pro but don’t see the juice or longspeed so not sure he’s that much different from Rico.

I think Hampton has more juice.

It’s just my opinion. I wouldn’t be surprised if a couple of backs go early like Robinson and Gibbs. I still think Jeanty is a top 5 talent and won’t make it to us. Dane says Hampton is going in round 1 and seemed to have no doubt. Like I said earlier this is going to be a hard draft for the Cowboys. It will scrutinized very hard after the last two drafts.

This is going to be a hard draft man. No real star players. I am not 100% sure about Hunter as a great player. He is slight. If Jeanty goes before our pick the Joneses will be exposed even more. The last time something like this happened we drafted Micah but then reached for Boss man in the the second.
