Hate to say it, but looks like Jeanty has a excellent chance to become a Cowboy!

I really like Ashton Jeanty as a prospect, but not in this deep running back class. However, cannot ignore the facts:

-Dane believes Jeanty is the 2nd best player in this class after Travis Hunter. He is going to be the best player on their board, if he falls.
-Who desperately needs a running back ahead of us? Mel Kiper continues to say the only team that does, is the Dallas Cowboys
-Cowboys franchise has always had elite players at the position. Likes to take the top player at a position
-He is a local kid, which means huge money in merchandising
-Is that WOW player that would get the casual fan excited

It is very possible another team drafts him ahead of us as he is a legitimate blue chip prospect in a draft that lacks them, but he isn't going to get past the Cowboys if he falls. Their believe, he helps the run game, their OL, their QB and Defense.

I love Jeanty but I don't want him but it's moot anyway because somebody will take him ahead of us

With all the arrows pointing towards the Cowboys it looks like a strong possibility. The other team that might come in to play before the Cowboys are the Browns. Chubb will be a FA and who knows if they move on from him. Yes, they need a QB, but they have a mess at the position to figure out. It will be interesting to see what the Browns do with Watson.

There is a chance he can be ahead of the Browns, like the Cowboys have been more competitive lately. Yeah, could see them taking him, but if they bring back Chubb, no chance.

If they lose Monday, I don’t see them trying to win anymore games.

They have a 1% chance at the playoffs now. Losing Monday all but eliminates any chance

I agree, but I can now see the Bengals and/or Bears as a landing spot for him. But the Bengals need defense and Bears Oline........
I read someone compared his vision to Emmitt Smith. Just don't see Jerry passing on this kid and if he's gone, Burden or Tmac.

This is Stephen last year with Archer on drafting a RB with a 1st.........his thinking is pretty clear. He will NOT take another RB inside 10, 11-15 maybe but after 15...........

"I think it depends on what part of the first round," Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones said this week, via ESPN’s Todd Archer. "If you're up there in the top 10, it's hard to take them there. You definitely, if you're taking a player in the top half, you're hoping you got a player that's going to be here 10 years. And it's tough for running backs to last 10 years. There's not many Emmitt Smiths or guys that play that long."
Smith turned into one of the greatest Cowboys of them all and the NFL's all-time leading rusher. He wasn't selected until the latter half of the 1990 NFL Draft at No. 17 overall, however.

Stephen doesn’t know what he’s saying. Same dude laughed at a reporter who asked about the idea of cap hell around the time Dallas signed Carr. Now cap limitations are all he can talk about and the team can’t fit $8M/year to get a Derrick Henry.

It’d be near the bottom of my wish list if we’re picking around 12-15.

Great player, but lower value position and class is absolutely loaded so we wouldn’t be taking advantage of the depth of the class.
If they do draft Jeanty they would be smart to draft another back later in the 5th or so. They talk about being able to run the ball, but the RB room needs to be overhauled, even if Dowdle returns.

Jeanty will be gone. I don't care who has a RB, the GM will ask is Jeanty better, also some teams will probably shed RBs to draft the '25 class.

Dallas is out of the sweepstakes since winning the last two games. I am glad because DT needs addressed first anyways. There are plenty of RB’s in this draft that will be an upgrade to Rico.

If we are picking outside 10 and this kid is there, you take him .............

He shouldn't get past the Cowboys. It would be awful if he went to Washington.

You say that as if it's a bad thing. We need a top RB and Jeanty is him.
He is a difference maker. We need to be a ground and pound offense.

This is so funny. People are going to complain and argue no matter what they do.

Jeanty is the odds on favorite for our pick in my book. You know he reminds me of a current Cowboys practice squad player, Dalvin Cook, in his prime. I hope we get to see Jeanty against one of those SEC defenses in the playoffs in a few weeks.

Plus he is from a military family so your boy Belicheck would sign off on him.
