Hate to say it but this game is a near must-win

If anybody doesn't think this is a must win they're deluding themselves. Washington aside this may be the most winnable game the Cowboys have left on the schedule. This is one they can't leave on the table. It's kind of like that Pittsburgh game last year. Everyone said all would be well and we know how that turned out.
Even if it's one of the most winnable, it's still not a must win. A loss makes us 8-4. The Pittsburgh game wasn't a must win last year either. Seriously on the road in a hostile environment against the eventual SB champs and now you say that's a must win? You're only saying that because we lost. The only must win game we had last year was at Philly.

Closest thing to a must win a team could have at this point of the season.

It's not "mathematically" a must win, but I think that "psychologically" it is a must win.

If the Cowboys win, they accomplish several things:

They maintain their roll and their lead atop the division

They further erode the Giants' confidence and increase their division lead over New York by 3 games.

They'd start to quiet all those expecting a December slide (I'd say including some in their own locker room).

And if they lose, all of those positives would turn into negatives.

I'm not saying it's in the bag by any means. But I actually think we might beat the Saints. I know that's an unpopular opinion.

This game is definitely huge. If we go into NY and beat the Giants, not only do we have a 9-3 record, a division win and a conference win, but we can certainly turn right around and beat the Skins and Eagles at home. That is all we need and the other two games against N.O. and San Diego would be nice to win, but not necessary.

I think if we beat the Giants, the rest of the season falls right into place in our favor. Lose to a team that has lost 5 out of it's last 6, and we will be limping around for a while and could miss the playoffs.
All of this.

I feel the same way. Got to have confidence in your team or why else watch? It's not like the Cowboys suck this season. The defense improves every week and if the offense starts showing some consistency, I like our chances.

A win and we are 9-3 while the Giants are 6-6. We'll be a virtual shoe-in for a playoff spot and in the drivers seat for the division.

But a loss and we drop to 8-4 and probably into a tie with the Eagles while the Giants would move to 7-5 and have the tie-breaker over us. Then comes San Diego and New Orleans with the Commanders and Eagles to close the season.

So there's definitely a big difference between 9-3 and being in total control over the division, as opposed to 8-4 with the Eagles and Giants right there with us or at our heels and having to scrap and claw the last 4 games.

Good post. I feel the same way. It is a big swing game for many reasons.

We're going to win.

both NO and MIN play at noon. MIN wont know id NO won out until they've already played their last game, just so you know.

Problem with saying game A is a must win is that what do you do if you lose, stop playing?

Yes I want to win the game and yes I wanted to beat Green Bay for tiebreaker purposes, but I am not writing of the Charger or the Saint game. We play up to our opponent and in no way do I see the Chargers as better than us.

I can see us beating the Chargers, Commanders and one of the two Giant/Eagle games (if not both). I still think we can beat the Saints too.

I see at minimum 3 wins out of the last 5.
