Have we closed the gap on the Eagles?

After watching these two games against the eagles ( the first one without elliot) and the second one against the eagles backups, I wonder if our Oline can hold up against their Dline.

What do you guys think? I’m cautiously optimistic that we did a little.

Too early to tell, too many questions to answer:
1. Can Tyron stay healthy all year?
2. Who will play LG? Williams? Martin? Collins?
3. Can Williams make the transition to guard, if indeed Collins is to stay at RT?
4. With Witten gone, is there a "security blanket" available for Dak, so he can dump the ball off if no one else is open?

Offensive vs. defensive line is a cat and mouse game, it's always changing, can Dallas make changes to counteract what they learned from last year, and will Philly make changes themselves?

Won't know anything until the season's start, and maybe not for several games thereafter.

But I would also be cautiously optimistic, based on the statements made that Smith feels good, Collins having a year under his belt at RT and Williams having good potential..

We need a better QB

The guy in your avi still can’t get picked up!

Sure. So if Zeke averages 4.1 ypc again this season, pretty sure you won't be calling his play a strength. Anyone can get the overall yardage with enough touches.
Whatever dude . If he rushes for over 1500 yards with 3.0 ypc leading us to playoffs it’s going to be a strength. Lol

U
Ask any non Cowboy fan.
Why?

They’ll all say the Cowboys have been terrible for 20 years... that too would not be entirely correct.

It would actually be false.

There aren’t many teams who would turn that down or call it average at best!

There is a big gap in the coaching and that won't be closed anytime soon.
player wise we are a little closer, but it depends on how all of our new guys do.
we should do better than last year, that's all I'm going to say

agreed. barring injury, our o-line should be much better.

the nfc will be really tough cowboys could end up third best team in the division where we lack is the coaching until that improves no we haven't made strides on the eagles

Ok I’ll say it. Wentz is a better QB than Dak. He was on pace for a MVP season while Dak was average at best.

Numbers don't tell the whole story, but Wentz last year had a qbr of 101.9, Dak 86.6. Wentz threw 7 ints in 440 attempts, Dak 13 ints in 490 attempts. Wentz threw 33 tds in 13 games, Dak only 22 in 16 games.

So in that regard, Wentz was clearly the better qb. But you have to factor in coaching and the rest of the team, which clearly aren't equal.

Really, barring continually making dumb decisions, missing tons of easy throws, etc. it's really difficult to say who's the "better" quarterback.

Archie Manning was a very good quarterback but his teams sucked every year he played, compared to other quarterbacks in the years he played. If he'd been on a better team he'd likely been heralded as a "great" quarterback.

I don't like comparing players from different teams, there's so much that factors in...

The eagles understand that pressure and defenses are built up the middle. They have great players at DT, LB, and safety.

We don't have a single player on defense at any of those critical positions that would start on the eagles team

Not one

We on the other hand continue to rely on prayer and hope

So the answer is, no
We have done exactly nothing to close it

This past weekend on NFL's Red Zone Ch week 9 was iggles vs Den / Dal vs KC.

iggles looked awesome and Dal performed good except for that debacle play.

It's going to be rough but Dal could do it

What has DT, LB and S on the Cowboys have to do with if the Dallas o-line can hold up against the Iggles' d-line? Totally unrelated comment to the posed question...

Than ask him what he meant and don’t assume something he never said.

Maybe he does believe Wentz sucks. Maybe he doesn’t. You could just ask him instead of getting defensive and inferring something was said, that wasn’t.

Wentz’s health and whether Foles will
Play significant time or not will have an affect on their season one way or another.

It’s very possible for somebody to think Dak is more accurate than Wentz, but also believe Wentz is a better overall QB than Dak.

It’s also possible for somebody to believe Dak can be just as good a QB as Wentz and think Wentz is a very very good QB.

For the last time, Somebody bringing up one negative about Wentz doesn’t mean they don’t
Think he is a good QB.

It's pretty clear what his intent was.

Hurns and Bryant a wash, Twill is still #2 WR, with Gallup spelling both, Beasley is still there, you have Thompson but you have to be willing to throw to him or his speeds means nothing, you have Austin who will be used as a gimmick and more or less be a quicker faster Beasley so based on paper the WR corp should be even to what was here last year but a lot of moving parts. Gallup played against weak competition in NCAA, and throw in Hurns, Thompson, Gallup, and Austin have zero chemistry with the QB and need to learn the playbook.

TE I think will be the problem, if the TE cannot as group show up as receiving threats there will be an extra guy used in coverage.

Dream on my fellow Cowboy fans!
The Dallas wall myth that will take us glory land has been in force for years now and at best we've accomplished one and done scenarios!
In the end most of you here will BLAME the same off-line for getting beat up again ( having 10 sec panic Dak throw the ball) with the same passion your building them up as the key clog for us go have success.

We have a QB who in all likely-hood will implode once again as his talent level is below average!
We have a Defense who is young and lacks serious talent once again.
We no longer have a no 1 WR.
We no longer have a Stud TE.
The whole teams success is based on Zeke's performance and dang at some point he's only human folk's.

Look for it to be a long season ....unfortunately!
