Jerry is announcing a new marketing deal that will make him even richer.

That is about the only headlines he makes these days.

100% true. He also overstates the talent on the team on a yearly basis, this year comparing our offense to the Rams..... People buy it somehow.

Very true! Having the Jones cartel removed from ownership is about the only scenario I can think of that will return us to making deep playoff runs and winning championships.

I firmly believe they'll never win another Super Bowl while jeri is alive, much less make it to one again. In 1995, I told my buddy this would be the last chance to see the Cowboys in a Super Bowl as long as jeri owns the team, so we begged, borrowed and stole in order to get a ticket and go to that game. 23+ years and counting and my opinion hasn't changed one iota (but my hope took a leap forward the few years Parcells was here)

IMO, we've never been so screwed; jeri has his entire family entrenched within the organization, which would be fine from a business standpoint but I don't see how they'll ever be able to compete against teams who are hungry, committed to winning and hire people who have obsessively devoted their lives to the game, working incessantly to uncover every edge available to give their team the best chance of winning.

Jeri and spawn are cavalier, blinded by their arrogance because they make money hand over fist and deluded enough to believe jeri was the mastermind behind the 3 Super Bowl wins (now so ridiculously long ago) and can do it again. The culture they create is toxic to winning and would require a ridiculous, cosmic set of circumstances to align for them ever to win another Super Bowl.

What coach is ever going to be able to penetrate and overcome this bunch:

Thats why I am meh about Garrett, he certainly has flaws like every coach on the planet does, but how can we ever know what kind of coach he'd be (or any other coach for that matter) with the Spector of jeri & spawn looming over him doing gawd knows what behind the scenes to make his job more difficult?

Its so disheartening, especially knowing it will never change, yet I can't completely walk away, they've been the only sports team I've ever cared about since I was 6 years old...

One of the most spot-on analyses of the problem I have ever read. 100% accurate. I would add that you can take the previous year's super bowl roster, migrate them to the Jones culture, and the next season will not be successful. Ownership in the Jones model of nepotism is great for his family but bad for fans/winning unless winning (i.e., deep playoff runs) are not important to you as a fan...

The same reason Rodger Staubach retired lack of protection concussions I believe Danny White was the same situation although he took he two three straight NFC championship games, and we still couldn't pull the trigger

Child, please spell the name of our father, Lord Roger Staubach. Repeating such an error might well
land you in the pit of misery..... lol, jk. (It seems funny to me right now)

Danny White broke his wrist and was never the same.

yep. The Cowboys started out 6-2 in 1986 when Danny broke his wrist and the team collapsed without him. Danny was never the same again and neither were the Cowboys under Tom Landry.

No worries, friend. I was just trying to have a little fun.
I get what you're saying about typing. I always "fat finger" my tablet or sometimes
my touch screen refuses to cooperate. Oh, and this smartphone stuff drives me
crazy... although it's really only a short walk to crazy... lol

I think that team would have made some serious noise if Danny hadn't got hurt...hard to believe I was my youngest sons age then.ha

I try to be careful. Some are always looking for a fight or trying to impress. I try to treat the board like
a fun night out where you make some friends and have some fun. It doesn't always translate well here... lol
