Griffin is leading straw polls right now, and those were accurate the last four years. Word is they're already prepping a new mold for the Heisman:D

I'm predicting Luck will get the Heisman, and RGIII will get the Maxwell. Davey O'Brien is a toss up.

IMO, Montee Ball should win the award. His numbers are absolutely ridiculous.

Richardson or Luck will win it, though. It's nothing but a popularity contest these days.

i admit I'm bias in this race but imperially why do you still think Luck is favored, doesn't seem to add up with the known math?

Hey, I'm not saying that's how it should go, just saying how I think it will go. I'm personally on board with RGIII winning every award he is up for.

Because he has been the media darling all year. They just LOVE that he was willing to come back for another year and have been on his jock ever since.

Richardson is the SEC guy with big numbers, which always draws some votes by itself.

I just don't think the voters will be willing to give the award to Ball or Griffin with those guys also in the running, and Mathieu is just a publicity stunt. When push comes to shove, the media darlings usually come out on top.

That being said, I think it's just wrong that a guy who accounts for over 2,000 yards from scrimmage, averages almost 9 yards per touch and scores 38 TDs as a running back isn't going to win the Heisman. He is going to break Barry Sanders' single season TDs record in the bowl game.

Wow, i butchered the word empirically, it must've been altered by spellcheck.

Agree with 30yard. I think Luck wins it based on his preseason media hype as much as anything.

i really hope you guys saying luck will get it because of the media darlingness are wrong, but im afraid you guys might be right.

looking at it though, RG3 has more signature wins and moments than pretty much all the other guys combined (with the exception of maybe honey badger). I really hope he wins it.

Problem is those signature wins are relative. TCU and Texas wouldnt be signature wins for Stanford or Bama or LSU.

Yes, they would. Don't be silly. Texas even though they are down is still considered a signature win. Perhaps it shouldn't be, but they have name recognition. That matters to voters. TCU, Texas and Oklahoma are currently ranked in the BCS top 25. Stanford does not have a single opponent ranked in the BCS top 25. USC would be, but are on probation. You can't tell me that Stanford would not be happy to have a victory over TCU, Texas or Oklahoma on their resume this season.

He probably lost some votes to his own teammate, QB Russell Wilson.
