Henson Era Over!

I wonder if he'll stagger out of training camp like this:

Parcells said he hasn't been cut, but won't be on the roster this year. Can't reveal more details (when asked about possible trade).

Parcells said he just didn't see enough.

I bet this means they are not going with three Qbs dressed this year.
They have done it before.

No agenda. I just don't see how folks worship this guy. He hasn't looked like a starting QB in training camp, in the preseason, in the regular season, or in NFL Europe. Boy, get yourself labeled as a first rounder in someone's mock draft, and you get a free 5 year pass. Meanwhile, Romo looks leaps and bounds better, is putting up insane preseason numbers, but no one notices him. That's an agenda, if I've ever seen one.

It is an agenda. You said he was 30. It's non factual.

Everything else you said about Henson is just an opinion.

I agree. We see teams spend #1 picks on QB's that don't make it every year. Dallas took a chance and it did not pan out

Exactly. And that was when they thought they needed a QB to develop for the near future. But with Bledsoe becoming available, it changed things. Would that trade be made now....no way.

So everyone under 30 is approaching thirty, even my four year old cousin.

Well, when you're starting to reach the end of your 20's, and you still haven't even nailed a backup position, that's troubling! As I'm sure you know, the body starts going downhill soon. You either have it, or you don't. Fellas like Rich Gannon who had late starts were always backups or occasional starters before they took off on their last team. My point is, if his name wasn't Drew Henson, fans would have given up on him a long time ago.

I don't see any truth in this post. Romo has gotten his due by the team, recently by the media and by the fan base.

I honestly think Henson saw the writing on the wall and asked to be traded.

Unlike Ellis however, Parcells was willing to oblidge.

You usually don't trade players you value very much.

No kidding. We were supposedly in the middle of a brewing quarterback controversy due to Romo's development, yet no one has noticed him?

Seriously. It's about time to drop the martyr act for some of these tools.

Trent Green was nobody to anybody until he was 29 or 30 I think.

The age generalization is not working, and 26 is young for a QB anyway.

Fans stuck by him because he was a good college QB. Why wouldn't you hope that would translate to the NFL?

What I don't quite understand is BP comment "Henson has not been waived, but he will not be on the roster." If he is not on the roster and has not been wavied then what is his status? Does this mean there is a trade in the making? because if there is not then I see no way that he can keep Henson from leaving as a FA

Folks had Romo practically unseating Bledsoe as the Cowboys new starting QB. He got more than his due.

Well, if Henson is out, I guess I'll get to see whether my biggest fear with him comes true.

Parcells has made some good decisions, but IMO, this isn't one.

At least, doing this at this time is not good.

Honestly, I am glad Henson is gone.

Although when we first got him I was hopeful, he never showed me anything.

I lost all hope for him watching him in Europe. I never saw the other things people seemed to get excited about.

At this point IMO he was just in the way.

It would have to be that there is a trade being completed -- I doubt Bill would say anything otherwise.
