One thing, if Bledsoe is The Answer at the quarterback position for the next three years or so, Romo will not be around. He is in the last year of his contract, will be an unrestricted free agent and has already made clear his desire to be in a situation where he can compete for the starting job.

The only ways Romo will re-sign with Dallas after this season are 1) if Dallas guarantees that he will get a chance next year to compete to be the starter or 2) no one is willing to give him that chance.

Romo's good but he's not THAT good....and no way he's going to unseat Bledsoe as the starter anytime soon, at least not in 2006 of 2007.

The Answer was worried that Payton was going to make a pitch for him now that he's the saints head coach, but considering they have Drew Brees I don't think they will be interested in raiding our stash.

If Romo has a good camp and preseason than the front office better lock him up to a long term extension! We can't let the next Jake Delhomme walk away from this franchise!

If its written on the net or in a news paper it must be true. I havent heard BP or JJ say they are giving up on him, until they do its all just another BS story written without merit. BP doesnt allow anyone on the team to talk to the media, so it seems odd that this guy has some kind of inside scoop. Henson was in a no win situation in NFLE from a fans perspective. If he plays well everyone would say its just NFLE and if he stunk it up everyone would say see he cant even play over there. He hasnt done either.

Again, JJ and BP realize that Henson is not this team's future at QB, and are simply tossing him to NFLE and giving him reps in an attempt to not look foolish for wasting a 3rd round pick and a long term deal on this guy.

Speaking about yourself in third person is just silly.

Thank you for making my argument:

"While the Cowboys still seem encouraged by Romo's development, time could be running out on Henson"
Are you still here? I thought you were creating your own forum and taking the masses with you?

You could give him a little head start on his way out the door. Hint...nudge...BAN ....hint....nudge.

The Answer agrees with your theory and is dumbfounded and second guessing.....Why is Henson such a hot topic of debate on this forum? And why are fans clamoring over his performance in the NFLE? The European league is nothing more than a breeding ground for 3rd string pine riders and other practice squad misfits. You would think that most hardcore Cowboy fans would realize this and move on. Henson this, Henson that....who cares. We wasted a 2nd rounder on Quincy Carter and a 3rd rounder on Henson....it happens, no front office fires 100% in the draft.

How come Tony Romo doesn't get this type of attention? He cost us NOTHING in the draft and he's BY FAR the better prospect and showed plenty more than Henson last summer in Oxnard. If anything we should be discussing his tremendous upside and potential for the future instead of a guy who only came back to the NFL after the MLB cut him loose for a doing absolutely nothing in their farm system.

Newsflash: THE QB POSITION IS NO LONGER A NEED FOR THIS TEAM. And if Bledsoe's rock solid performance last season didn't validate that, then I don't know what will. Time to move on...

i am not a pro-henson or a pro-romo person; i am a pro-cowboy person. I will admit i have not watched any other nfl europe games, but i did watch all of the Fires games. In my opinion, I was impressed with Henson because it seemed liked he was constantly under pressure and was not helped at all by his receivers, yet he looked alright.

Im confused Henson had a 90+ QB rating beofre getting hurt while demonstrating improvement in pocket awareness adn making reads an improvement that Parcells noted and now hes done?

I mean come on i really dont care which guy wins as long as hes a good QB but that is just plain ********.

He got hurt in a football game. Like that means a player is deficient. Geez.

The likelihood of Dallas being able to lock up Romo is not very high because of his desire to compete for the starting job.

Why should Romo re-sign with Dallas if he knows Bledsoe is going to be the starter? The only reason would be that no one else is interested in him as a starting contender.

I see Bledsoe remaining the starter in 2007 (unless he bombs this year) and Romo going elsewhere for a better shot at starting.

All Henson has shown over in the minor is POTENTIAL. What you need to succeed in the NFL is TALENT.

Talent wins games, potential gets you cut....

Seriously, anytime one of these threads is started, there should be an immediate ban. I mean, these posts are such obvious flame starting threads, probably all initiated by the same individual/group of people.

P.S. Can there be anything more annoying that listening to someone speak about himself in the third person?

The Answer agrees, this Henson debate has reached epic proportions and it's quite unnecessary. We have our starter and back up with Bledsoe and the stallion, the 3rd qb is an irrelevant debate at this point and time.

The question at this point is to flame or not to flame? Please choose wisely...

The Answer would have liked to see us make a run at the Little General Doug Flutie as well. He would have been a great insurance policy if Bledsoe gets hurt for a significant stretch (heaven forbid). But Lil Dougie opted to retire instead of pursuing a world title with the Pats or another team.

Hey if you are serious about starting your own board please send me the link so I can sign up and post there regularly too. Something tells me there wouldn't be much traffic on there though if you didn't allow any Henson fans.

In any event I think we are set at the QB position with Bledsoe for the next 3 years or so. Also don't discount the Italian Stallion, this kid Romo has moxy and I like how he has progressed the last few seasons without having to go to the NFLE. Also keep your eye on this Ivy league gem we picked up: Jeff Mroz, he's still a bit raw but I could see him developing into a solid back up. He's very similar to Bledsoe and has worked out with Chris Palmer. Competition for the 3rd QB spot will be fierce this summer....Henson is on notice!

~The Answer

despite the sarcasm, I agree on Mroz. He could be a diamond in the rough, kind of like Romo :D

If you are the answer, I have to ask myself what in the world is the question?
