If the cowboys Trade for Harrington, Which QB do you think will remain on the team? Explain why you think one or the other will stay.

I believe Henson will remain a cowboy for several reasons:

1. We have more invested in him at this time i.e. 3rd rd draft pick more $.
2. I think there is more upside to Henson i.e., more athletically gifted, stronger arm etc. I do not see Romo as anything more than a career backup.
3. There is a market for trading Romo possibly Sean payton in NO
4. I don't think JJ wants to give up on him yet for his own ego. As a GM it would fair very badly to have bombed out on 3 baseball players turned QB in 4 years.

Henson will have seen more action when TC starts (NFLE). He's also physically superior.

Henson stays and we keep our fingers crossed that we can get a 4th for Romo.

Well I havent seen enough of either of the two, but if I have to pick one I'll have to say ROMO. He showed to be more calm and composed and had a better touch with the ball. Henson looks shaky back there and made some very questionable throws.

This is based on a handful of TC games?!?!?! All i can remember is Romo scoring a TD on a play he admitted to have messing up.

When you have to choose btwn 2 unprovens, you choose the one w/ better physical ability. JMO.

To be honest, I wouldn't mind if the trade was for a 6th and/or 7th rd pick. Considering Patrick Ramsey only fetched a 6th rder for the skins I think that is a possibility.

I would prefer to have a QB with some real experience against live action in the event DB went down in the middle of a playoff run. Opponents would have to game plan allot differently against Harrington than they would DH or Romo. Harrington has at least read defenses and seen a variety of blitz packages and disguised zones compared to the other two. With DH or Romo in the game teams would just blitz the hell out of us forcing us into max protect.

Based strictly on merit, Romo should stay, but he won't. JJ aint giving up on his bonus baby.

Henson stays, Romo goes.

Henson, at the beginning of training camp will have more recent experience than Romo and against better competition in the NFLE than Romo did in his college career.

Romo has been our creation.

I often wonder how fans of other teams must laugh their behinds off watching us passionately argue about an undrafted, third string QB, who's never thrown an NFL pass.

Please explain this "merit" you speak of?

The #3 spot is for developing a qb. Romo is in his fourth year and has already hinted that he will leave as a UFA if he isn't the starter. Henson is locked up for several years and they traded for him knowing that he needed time to develop and knock the rust off.

Were not the only fans that crazy. Look at the skins fans drooling over their future HOFer Jason campbell. He might have been drafted in the 1st rd but he is definetly not a 1st rd talent. :lmao:

Same thing happens on any team. And drafted or not doesn't matter anymore.

The answer to this is easy. Henson has 5 years left on his very cheap contract and is a project. Romo on the other hand has obviously not impressed Parcells or the Cowboys very much if they are looking to trade for a backup like Harrington. Considering Romo was the backup last season trying to find a new backup does not bode well for a guy in the last year of his deal.

Ya think?

I don't go to other boards...

But I do get a kick out of the battles about a guy who wasn't even drafted, who's name is more known for ribs than football.

Every disinterested observer at training camp noted that the distance between Romo and Henson is like the distance between the Earth and the Moon. Doesn't mean Romo is great or the answer, but he's still miles ahead of his understudy.

We essentially have a 3rd round pick invested in Romo as well if you consider that we turned down a high 3rd round pick from the Jets to keep Romo last year. Opportunity cost.
