"Read the article my Mickey, he say it right there."

Okay here are some excerpts from the very article you are telling us all to read.

"This also does not mean the Cowboys are ready to throw in the towel on two-year veteran Drew Henson, who currently is NFL in Europe playing for the Rhein Fire. Henson's club is 2-0, and his performance this past weekend was much improved over his NFL Europe opener. Jones said he hasn't even so much as looked at tape of Henson's performances or read any of the scouting reports from the first two games.

But, according to Jones, this should not be viewed as some European vacation for Henson, heading into his third season with the Cowboys.
"Certainly it is important, very important, a significant thing," Jones said of Henson's performance this spring overseas. "That's the process. It's very meaningful what Drew's doing, relative to anything we might think about any quarterback."

But Jones knows he has two young quarterbacks he might want to see through before pulling the plug on either, since as he said, "We sure want to get a little better look at Henson. And we'd be able to keep only three, and that would be a consideration there.

"But yes, (Harrington) would be somebody to look at."

Jones does not in anyway want to immediately sign Harrington, even as a backup since the move would cut the developing legs out from under Henson in Europe"

Drew Henson 71.34%
Tony romo 28.66%
Voters: 164. You have already voted on this poll

WOW!!!. Not even close. If this was a popularity contest, Romo wouldn't make it past the inital round.

I'm not going to vote in this poll because I'm going to wait and see what the team decides to do since I don't have a horse in this race. I have only seen enough of Romo to want to see more so I can make up my mind and winning everything in NFLE hasn't meant much in the past so how much will it mean if Henson succeeds there? Of course if he falls apart then the issue gets settled quickly. Somehow I keep thinking of the old Mark Twain adage that if you find yourself in agreement with the majority, it is time to pause and reflect.

Sometimes I wonder if the longer term future for Valley Ranch is as an equestrian park. They seem to have a head start on it since they have a jackass for GM, a mule for head coach, a few slow moving draft horses and a handful of upcoming studs and far too many geldings that are accustomed to being ridden. Oh yeah, a stable full of fillies in the cheerleaders and a few horses' ***** in the stands. :D

Yeah, I know, I should be ashamed of myself or maybe horse-whipped.:

I hope to hell we don't invest even change in Joey Harrington, but if we do, Romo is out. Romo is the guy who has less physical ability but was deemed more ready to be the backup. If someone else is brought in, it's because we are not comfortable with Romo as the backup.

Romo will be cut and Henson will continue to be the guy with talent who needs "MORE TIME" to develop....I'm a little tired of that story too.

Jerry is a businessman and undoubtedly understands sunk cost. What's invested in Henson should be irrelevant to whether he or Romo would stay. Simply put, the team should keep the player that is or at least can be the most productive QB for the Dallas Cowboys.

I am sure he does understand sunk cost, however, if it is close race between the two, the amount invested would be a primary factor in determining who stays and who goes.

I don't see how anyone can make a judgement on either QB as far as the NFL. We simply haven't seen enough to make a judgement. I had high hopes for Henson, but now I'm just not so sure.

That is true about the intangibles, i.e. leadership, ability to read defenses, make the right reads, etc. As for the physical attributes, I believe it has been documented that Henson has exceeded Romo.

The whispers about Romo are intriguing. I have no idea if (or why) BP or anyone else would consider this kid "special," but it seems like lately if there's smoke, there's fire.

It is possible that they are trying to pump up his value for a possible trade.

To be honest, I don't care which one comes out on top aslong as wemake the right choice on who to keep and who to get rid of, whether its Romo, Henson, or a draft pick. I just want the Cowboys to secure the QB who is the best long term answer to this team. As for Harrington, like I said before, I view him as only a serviceable back up QB.

Yea, I am surprised by this as well. I thought it would be more evenly distributed given the previous debates on these 2.

Its because Drew Henson threw a TD over there in europe against a defense that is made out of undrafted free agents (they will probably never enter an NFL stadium. Just like Drew)... :D

The spot has already been made, Henson was shipped off to Europe. He won't be coming back. Drew Henson to Zuriel Smith, get used to it.

Henson, at the beginning of training camp will have more recent experience than Romo and against better competition in the NFLE than Romo did in his college career.

Romo has been our creation.

I often wonder how fans of other teams must laugh their behinds off watching us passionately argue about an undrafted, third string QB, who's never thrown an NFL pass.

That's it. He has exercised the demons. This thread is clear.

Nice.

People need to stop harking SO much on when a quarterback was drafted.

Maybe if the Saints kept Jake Delhomme after he stint in nfl europe and as the NFC QB rating leader two years running in the preseason, they wouldn't have had to overpay to get a worse quarterback in Drew Brees.

"they will probably never enter an NFL stadium. Just like Drew"

Except Drew has entered an NFL stadium 36 times over the last two years (this includes pre-season). So it is a little hard to take anything you might say on this or any other subject very seriously.

"Spot" on. "Shipped" off. Hmm...Sounds familiar.

And he wasn't shipped off. He chose to go.

Their both going to be on the team next year. If I had to choose, it would be Henson because he has a longer contract and I think he will turn the corner in NFLE. Romo already has trade value to New Orleans. The only way they are not on the roster is if we bring in someone to back up Bledsoe, in which case we would trade the one with value at this time.

Oh, I dunno about that...I can see having a discussion about a guy who came from a major college program and who, by all accounts would have been a top five pick, in many cases seen as the first pick overall vs a guy from a small college who went undrafted....world of difference.

Ahhh, but they both ended up Cowboys right? Romo being the back up last season. I think its goofey arguing over either one, but Henson has as much chance at being let go as Romo does.
