We could do option a-z listed above, or we could just find a better QB and most of the other “needs” would magically disappear.

You need high-end talent at every position in order to make up for dak’s shortcomings.

There’s a common denominator in all of these playoff losses.

Unlike last year in that embarrassing first round loss to the niners, the Cowboys came out and played very hard tonight. They played with way more fire than they did last year vs the niners. And it still wasn’t enough. Hate to say it my friends but the niners are a better team than we are. Period. They deserve to be in the NFC championship game next Sun.

Being even more blunt- the niners had more talent at key positions than we do. They added Christian McAffrey. They have two of the best defensive players in the entire league in Nick Bosa and Fred Warner. Serious Question: What did we add this year that made us way better?

Here’s why we lost IMO:
  • The niners are a better team. They are better at multiple positions and they are better coached than we are. Kyle Shanahan is an offensive genius. Brock Purdy is an average NFL talent who is surrounded by top 5 talent at multiple positions. Their defense is top shelf.
  • I think we went as far as this team’s talent could have taken it. Dak is not good enough to carry this team. He can win playoff games if he has more of the top tier talent around him team like SF has.
  • The two interceptions were killers.
  • Micah Parsons needs help. He‘s great, but he’s not enough alone. We need lots of help at DL and in the secondary.
  • The niners and eagles got way better this off-season. We got a little better. We did not improve enough last off-season. They did. It’s that simple.
Here‘s a few things that should happen:
  • You can’t build with just the draft. FA and trades matter. The two NFC championship teams were aggressive this off-season. We were not. If we don’t learn how to get better in FA, this team will fall back not get better.
  • We do not have a great front office. They do NOT know how to build a playoff winner. We have 28 years of receipts. They don’t understand how to be aggressive in FA and trades and it shows. THAT MUST CHANGE.
  • Jerry needs to hire a strategic advisor to help plan their off-season. We must have an aggressive off-season or this team goes backward. The Jones boys don’t know what they’re doing.
  • They should explore trading Dak or get aggressive to surround him with more talent. This team does not have enough offensive talent at multiple positions.
This is just an early assessment. Lots more to think about.
But to me it’s crystal clear- this team does not have enough talent and lacks the front office strategic ability to fix it without help.
Just one correction if I may Bob.
We did not get a little better in free agency, we got worse.
We traded Cooper for a 5th round pick.
We lost Randy for nothing.
We lost Wilson for nothing.
We had CD and a bunch of players at WR this year.
Sure would have been nice to have Cooper and Wilson.

I'm really finding it hard to get excited for next season... We have a low draft pick, we might lose Dan Quinn and we're probably going to see more Dak, Kellen Moore and McCarthy with Stephen Jones playing scrooge mcDuck in free agency again. What will happen to make this a competitive team? On top of that, the Eagles have a top 5 pick

I think it starts and stops with coaching. For 3 quarters Dallas controlled the game with their defense. If the offensive coaches could've done anything during those 3 quarters this game is over by the 4th quarter.

I really don't think the niners are better at all.

Well live with the delusion then

I am going to have to disagree with you a bit. The Cowboys were good enough to win this game. The teams were pretty evenly matched.

Losing Pollard and the rookie TE hurt quite a bit. But the reason we lost this game was Dak Prescott. Pure and simple. Dak was reason #1 why we lost.

There were other contributing factors (including the officials in the second half) in us losing the game, but if Dak played even reasonably well, we win this game most of the time the way the defense played.

By the way…the defense didn’t just suddenly get bad in the second half, they got some legit help from the officials on a couple of drives.

Eagles top 10 not top 5 , if not mistaken.

We just have a difference of opinion. The niners have many more offensive weapons than we do. They have McAffrey, Samuel, Kittle, Aiyuk, Mitchell. We have Lamb, Pollard, Schultz…Zeke? Who’s better?

Defense? We have Micah who’s great. They have Bosa, and Fred Warner who are both great. Their defense is better.

Just my opinion but the niners have more talent.

We absolutely need a better QB. I certainly agree Dak was awful tonight. But two big points here:
1. Where/how are we going to get a better QB? Trade? Draft?
2. What “elite” weapons does this offense have? Pollard and Lamb. That’s it. Look at the niners weapons.

I disagree on the talent. We shut down McCaffrey, Deebo, etc. Kittle had a few big plays. But for lapses by Diggs they wouldn't have had the long TD drive and Dak gave them easy points. Bosa made little impact. Warner was really good. 49ers offensive coaching is world's better. That is the difference.

This team is an utter embarrasment and it's getting hard to continue supporting when you know nothing will change and next year around this time, other fans will be laughing at us as we look like a circus over and over.
Till we get a professional GM in here who knows what they are doing instead of a fan playing GM
Its never going to change.
Enjoy winning regular season games and know you are never having post season success.

Dak wasn't awful, his options were. He willed this team to victory last week, he's not able to do that on a weekly basis.

Both those receivers got open constantly effortlessly, I get Wilson was on the success of others, but we DON'T have that this year.

The only thing that is going to fix this is get the Jones family out of the GM position. They are TERRIBLE. Almost 30 years of losing results and we keep thinking changing out the other pieces will do anything
