Didn’t say it was smart but they are considering it. They need to just put Tyler at left tackle and hope for the best.I'm sorry but that seems like way too much movement to attempt two weeks before the opener. Besides we saw that Steele was less effective at LT last year.
Wynn?
It would matter. Eric Fisher is better than anything we currently have at LT. So is Bulaga. Heck Jason Peters would be a better option than Ball.
Change OC to Farniok...Wow!! Let's just shift the entire OL.
This. This. This.Steele sucks at LT and is best to leave him where he is.
It’s over. Another season wasted
IF true .....guess who will get blamed?
They made the playoffs with Steele at LT for 6 games and at RT for 8 games...Steele isnt a decent LT
Biadasz is better. Facts are stubborn things.Change OC to Farniok...

I actually agree with you. Running the football is the best way to develop a young offensive line. We have the backs and tight ends. Heck Noah Brown is one of the best blocking wide receivers in football. Most importantly we have the defense to back it up.If I was going to really shift things around (& for the long term it is worth discussing) I would certainly consider Tyler at LT. Regardless of who mans LT, I would shift Z to LG, McG to RG. Put supposedly your best linemen next to your inexperienced LT.
Based on what I have seen I would also replace TB with Farniok .... but that has nothing to do with addressing the injury situation.
Of course, I would also plan to use TE or heavy package to give extra support to LT as much as possible.
LT- Tyler Smith
LG- McGovern
C- Biadasz
RG- Martin
RT- Steele
Don't think we have much choice....don't see it any other way. Tyler Smith is a tackle...not a guard anyway. Sucks that he didn't get much time there...but it is what it is. He was going to eventually be there anyway...gonna have to live with some growing pains.
The only problem with that is we have an offensive coordinator that treats the run game as a second-class citizen.I actually agree with you.
