Bosa @ 269
20 yard shuttle- 4.21
40 yard - 4.86
10 yard split- 1.69
3 cone- 6.89
Broad- 120
Vertical- 32
Bench- 24

Tyrone Crawford @ 275 (Pro Day)
20 yard shuttle- 4.44
40 yard - 4.78
10 yard split- 1.69
3 cone- 7.09
Broad- 113
Vertical- 33
Bench- 28

Bosa actually reminds me a lot of our own Tyrone Crawford. Exactly why I think Crawford should be moved to SDE.

That actually makes a lot of sense provided that we draft an impact 3 tech to replace him. He and Lawrence would make an interesting pair of ends and we would be hell for stout on Crawford's side against the run.

Every time i think about how much bosa will be asked to drop into coverage, i worry about his 40 time.

I believe he played safety two years and corner last year. Far more productive as a safety.

41 games played at FSU: 3 ints (none in 2015).

Using a top 5 pick on a guy who clearly isn't a game changer would be sheer idiocy.

saying he wasn't a game changer is pure idiocy.

watch the tape.

he made more plays behind the line of scrimmage then myles jack.

since teams didn't throw at him hardly at all he played much like tyrann mathieu and just attacked.
he had 5 sacks, 15.5 tackles for loss, 4 forced fumbles, 2 fumble recoveries and the 3 INT with 22 passes defended.
more than that he dominated balls in the ball his entire career.

I think we should go after a QB. But, my gut tells me we won't and we'll end up taking either Hackenberg or Hogan later on. Personally, I would not mind seeing us trade down a notch, then trade away our 2017 1st rounder and somehow end up getting both Ramsey and Lynch in the first round.

Anyway, if we don't go QB, I think Ramsey should be the target. He has all of the game tape and measurables. The league is now more oriented towards the quality of your DB's. You can have all of the pass rush you want, but when QB's are getting rid of the ball in less than 2 seconds with today's offensive schemes...there's only so much a pass rush can do. Denver was great because they blitzed (which takes more than the D-Line to get to the QB) and they had a very stout secondary.

I think the safety position is even more important than corners at this point in the NFL. Safeties are asked to do a lot. They have to cover WR's, RB's, big athletic TE's then be able to stop the run, snuff out screens, blitz and be able to switch up with man and zone coverages, disguise coverages, etc. And they are still the last line of defense.

According to Louis Riddick, the safety position is the worst coached position in the NFL. I'll give Belichick credit here, I think one of the things that makes the Patriots successful each year on defense is that he coaches safeties better than anybody. And if Riddick is right, then there's a great disparity in how Belichick coaches safeties versus the rest of the league. The best way to overcome that disparity is to have some great talent at the safety position.

The big thing I like about Ramsey is the versatility. Pair him with Byron and now we have two smart, hard nosed, super athletes that can play 4 or 5 of the DB positions. That would allow us to do many things such as figuring out how to fill out the rest of the DB positions.

Uh-huh. I've seen the kid play numerous times, including in person at last year's Peach Bowl. Nothing I saw in any of those games made me think "yeah, that's a top 5 pick".

The last thing our secondary needs is yet another guy who doesn't take the ball away. Pass.

Does it bother people that Bosa has balance questions? Seems to go to the ground a lot and even in his combine drills he was stumbling and falling on his own.

Would Yoga fix that?

Isn't that more or less what people said about Mo Claiborne coming out of LSU?

I think they are 2 completely different players coming out of college.

Mo was a long arm CB that was designed for press coverage. The great and exciting thing about Mo was his ball skills were spectacular.

However, Mo couldn't tackle and just had very bad form. He also only played corner.

Ramsey doesn't have problems with tackling, can play every position in the defensive backfield. He might not have the ball skills, but that's always tough to tell because if QB's aren't throwing your way, you're not going to get picks. And some players, like Antonio Cromartie, get beat often and gamble often, but that allows them to make picks. It's really feast or famine with them.

And Ramsey had a much better SPARQ score which translates that he is a much better athlete than Mo.

If you can't tackle, you simply can't play zone in this league. I've heard that Mo was a zone corner in college, but I'm not buying it. He couldn't tackle back then and it will not translate to zone in the NFL. But, at the time we had a press-man D-Coordinator in Rob Ryan and not by coincidence, Mo's best year by far was his rookie season when Ryan was the D-Coordinator.
