Here it is, the play that we lost on in 07

Patrick Crayton

Thanks, I couldve went the rest of my life without seeing it again.....I was in that right corner end zone 5 rows up.....that play alone (not counting the other one Crayton shouldve had across the middle) made for a very long 4 hour ride home. :banghead:

A lot of things cost us that game and had we made some critical stops defensively throughout the game it would have never come down to that play or Romo having to force a throw into the endzone that got picked. We gave up a cheap TD early in the game to Toomer who we had boxed in. A penalty on Ware after the Cowboys stopped the Giants on a 3rd down gave them a fresh set of downs and we missed a tackle on Toomer who ran away for a TD.

After we scored to take a 14-7 lead, we allowed the Giants to drive the field in the final 2 minutes before the half to tie the game. Clayton had a critical drop that would have led to at least a FG. This is not a game we want to rehash with the possibility of having to play the Giants again. We all need to try and get 2007 out of our heads.

You guys sit there and make excuses for Romo every game. In Romo's fans mind, he's NEVER done one thing wrong, except he can't win the big one.
And in your mind he's never done anything right. The people on the other side are much closer to accurate.

On the bright side, that was a superior Giants defense than the one they have now. And, Dallas' offense is arguably better than the 2007 version. If they play again, Dallas will win.

Sure are, that's why we have 2 playoff victories in a decade.
Your inability to see the complexities and nuances from organizational, coaching, personnel, and play on the field perspective, in a team sport would be cute if it was in a hot, dumb blond girl type of way, but the fact that you act like you're a jealous Quincy Carter behind the scenes who believes Romo took his job and finds relief in constant denigration of him here makes it just silly and pathetic.

Again, stick to your below average play by play updates in game threads. You're ruining your decent reputation.
Clove's play-by-play updates are very good. They are an asset to every member who can access the game threads but not the game broadcasts. His play-by-play posts are a welcome addition for every game thread.

We need the missed fumble recovery against GB or Demarco Murray getting stripped by Peppers bc he was carrying the ball like a loaf bread

Holding the ball too long when you knew you had to get it out.

Just watched the whole second half again and the only negative play that Romo made that he did not convert the first down was the grounding. He converted both 1st downs after those sacks you speak about. Crayton drops or stops on 3 balls in the second half. That is more than a lot of WR drop in half a season. Romo played a great game that day and his team let him down by penalties and drops and poor protection.

I can only come to the conclusion that you have no sense....

Crayton was running a clear out route he wasn't the primary nor secondary target, should he had run his route all the way through? Yes. We still run those patterns, remember Dez running 24 go routes against the Giants in the first game? Clear out routes. Remember Williams not looking for the Romo pass last week? Clear out.

If Crayton ran that play 100 times that year and the ball was never thrown to him the first 99 times then it's only human to not expect the next one.

And those are the small things that separate the good ones from the great ones. The great ones run every route as if the ball is coming their way.

Re-watch the game. Romo also missed a wide-open T.O. for a touchdown in the 3rd quarter. That was more devastating than the Crayton dropped pass.

EDIT: regardless, these are team losses. The Giants made more plays.

And they made more plays because of the horrific play of Jacques Reeves. Single handedly gave them a TD before the end of the half.

You mean the ghost offsides penalty on Ware when he was flagged for going early when he didn't? Just pointing out that was a horrible call by the officials, not a mistake made by our defense there that allowed a Giant's drive to keep going for a score.

Man thats awful bro. I dont know if I could've been in a car for 4 hours after that. After night games when we lose Im usually so angry I have to pop a couple benadryl in order to sleep. I nursed some crown and coke after that game and sobbed like a little girl for a few hours(weeks.) A part of me died that game lol. This thread is actually not cool at all.

Stick to thread topic.

This isn't what bothers me about the romo narrative. It's a team game. Technically he made the game winning play. It just didn't get put together Bc not everyone was doing their job and buying in(people seem to buying in this year).

This is the same pass roethlisberger or Eli has made before and they luckily got completed and now they're immortal.
