Hip Hop Music Thread

Gold Digger (I hated hearing this in the clubs.... This made way too many people comfortable using a word they shouldn't be using in the clubs!)

Hot *** Stacey Dash, dam, she's 48!!!! (although she is a super bugged out chick)

Great production, dont like relat. songs. Too immature (me). I drink that ish away. I get why he's popular most deftly though, talented artist w/o question, no hater by any means. One of those it makes me wonder what's wrong with me when the fact that most do like it, etc. Giving YOU a hard TIME Sprigns. Thanks for posting the clips mane!:D

I don't mind them... music is an outlet to say what you feel..... so, that's what we get....
BUT... it does start a chain reaction to a bunch of immature actions by youngin's who listen...and THINK they relate.

I never expected to post more than one or two Kanye songs in this thread....

oh well... back to our original programming!

I'm definitely not a super fan of this dude, nor is any of his music in my playlist...
But I acknowledge talent... Talent isn't just what I like, its the ability to be able to execute an aspect of an art well, & with creativity... and he does so ...

In the movie section I often say, someone can craft a movie well on many levels, but that doesn't make the topic enjoyable to all...... (American Hustle, people in that thread hated that flick, but that film was soooooo well done)

That's the aspect I'm working on tbh...just bc I don't specifically like it, doesn't make the song "weak or "soft" and should be embraced more so for the artistic capability and range of the artist in the topics they can approach. But just bc I deem a couple of songs as "fluff" that are mainly singles aimed more for "fun" club fun tracks shouldn't completely overshadow the more professionally artistic or more "thought out" songs in their discography.

Rap has undergone such a crazy transformation. Hip Hop has been infiltrated by so much.... Its crazy to see the change from when I & Hip Hop were born (around the same time).... I never knew a genre that I listened to so much as a kid & young adult, would be one I don't listen to very much in my late 30's)

Props to Joey Bada$$, SchoolBoy Q, Freddie Gibbs, Capital Steez (RIP), & Kendrick Lamar.....
keeps me listening to some of the new hip hop cats....

Love me some Kendrick Lamar too and one my present day faves.

Yeah Stacie Dash is a freak (Raquel Welch type genes) looking that fine @ 48. (looks better now than in Clueless). But also hear you in that I heard she is basically Herman Cain:D (ideology wise)

Wow, Ron. I see what you mean. Brilliant. It very much reminds me of some of the videos from Enigma, even the music. Not surprising I suppose, since I believe the Enigma project originated in France? Photographically/Cinematically speaking, some of Enigma's work in video is some of the best I have ever seen. You should check out their video, "Why". It is the most beautiful video, along with the most poignant and heartwrenching lyrics I think I've ever seen. It was filmed in Africa and is so photographically moving, it will mesmerize you. The first time I saw it was shortly after my mother died, and maybe that is why I feel the way I do about it, but it will haunt you. I can't post it here, it is not rap, but it also contains some partial nudity, but please look it up if you want a great and beautiful "cinematical" experience. Another couple of great ones from them for video, "Return To Innocence" and "Goodbye Milky Way". They're also just great Chill Songs. :)
