The Cowboys had some bad breaks too. The fumble by Aaron Jones that bounced right back to him was good luck for the Packers. The non-call of PI on CeeDee Lamb was a bad break too, as was the holding call on McGovern which was very ticky tack. You see that kind of holding all the time. The refs have to stop throwing flags just because a guy goes to the ground. In fact, the rulebook specifically say the refs have to witness the entire infraction before calling a penalty.

Having said that, the team looked flat much of the game. Some of Dak's passes were awful and he was zeroing in on receivers. The Cowboys offense is best when Dak is spreading the ball around, the run game is working and Dak shows the run. I don't know what it is but sometimes Dak stands in the pocket and forgets he can run. Yesterday was one of those games. When Dak chooses to run too late to escape the Rush, and gets tackled from behind that is a sure sign "Bad Dak" is on the field.

Aaron Jones, Lambeau Field, and Arron Rodgers have the Cowboys' number. That was a banged up football team Dallas faced, especially on defense. No excuses. They just looked awful.

And why does CeeDee Lamb continue to make the same mistake running routes?

One last thought. Maybe teams have figured out Dan Quinn's defense. Chicago and now a banged up Green Bay team hung 4 TDs on Dallas the last two games. Is it really the players who can't stop the run, or is it the scheme?

None of this should surprise anyone. On one end, it could be just one bad game...teams do have those. However, the Cowboys have shown us over the last 20 years that they can just be plain awful. You have a young QB who needs some good experience? You have a struggling veteran that needs a kick start for their season? Come over and play the Cowboys!! This team was never going to win the division and honestly, I am tired of this team winning the division and why? Because I am tired of Jerry and the fans thinking this is good enough. I wanna see if this team is strong enough to squeak into the Wildcard and beat every team in their home stadium. It won't happen because I believe that the Jones boys don't instill that toughness into their teams. They are all about flash and the circus. That just isn't solid thinking for Winter football.
Well said.

If you believed in this team, I am not sure why or how after yesterday.
I don’t believe in them. But they will be a playoff team.

Giants have 7 wins, Dallas has 6, SF has 5 and they will likely catch Seattle. Then you have four teams with four wins. We still have the easy part of our schedule after thanksgiving to go. If we split the Vikings / Giants that puts us after 7-4. We then have 3 winnable games with the Colts, Jags, Texans. Say we split that 2-1. They are now 9-5. They likely need to win 1 of the final 3 to lock up a playoff spot. The Eagles have nothing to play for, the titans likely have the division locked up and Washington is either going to be in a win it to get in or is already eliminated

Not so fun fact: Until yesterday the Dallas Cowboys were 195-0 when leading by 14 or more pts going into the fourth quarter. Make that 195-1. THAT was an historic meltdown to a team that was reeling.

Honestly- There is plenty of blame to go around for this loss:
  • Dak was awful at times yesterday. Poor decisions, inaccurate throws. Not a good day for #4.
  • Receivers were lazy on multiple routes- Cedee Lamb and Dalton Schultz practically ran the same route on Dak’s first INT. Lamb’s route running is sloppy.
  • It’s Kellen Moore’s 4th season as OC. Yesterday he looked like a rookie OC again. The Cowboys ran the ball well but did not stick with it at critical moments.
  • Penalties…again. The Tolbert penalty was pee wee football stupid. Lining up offsides is stupid for a defensive player- BUT for a WR??? Inexcusable. And stupid penalties overall were once again a central cause for a loss. Donovan Wilson’s mindless hit out of bounds…Just stupid.
  • The team’s supposed strength- the Defense- cannot stop the run. Period. And then there’s the poor tackling.
Yesterday’s loss probably cost them any shot at the division. The season is far from over. Eight games are left. This team still has plenty of chances to do something. But when you see the same old problems over and over…it makes it harder to believe in this entire organization.
You had me until you said this season is far from over. It is OVER. Point blank period. We have to stop believing this team will EVER do anything post their in season bye week when we know that’s when the team most oftenly falls apart. STOP setting yourself up to be disastrously disappointed and sniff the morning rain. This team is overdone toast to the point of the toaster catching on fire. Nothing nor no one can save this team from the impeding disaster and implode that awaits it year in and year out.

We tried to tell em to not take an Aaron Rodgers lead team lightly, Bob.

They wouldn't listen to us and chalked this one up as an easy win for us though.

You need to seek help as your infatuation with Romo has appeared in multiple threads and multiple posts this morning.

It’s true that “ season is far from over”…..but that applies to the teams that have indications that they can compete in the playoffs.

The fact of the matter is that presently, we are the 3rd best in our division with glaring deficiencies that can’t be fixed this season

Sometimes statistics can be misleading. This stat would lead people to believe that Dallas is 195-0 when leading by 14 points in the 4th quarter. When in fact that isn't the case. It states going into the 4th quarter. Because the Cowboys had a 24-10 lead on the Jets in the 4th quarter in week 1 of 2011. But they went into the 4th quarter up 17-10. To me it's the same thing.

I think the rug pull was the defense. Everyone thought the top 3 defense standing and calling them elite, but that is definitely not the case. These teams are going to gear up to run over the defense and the ones with good enough personnel can do just that, bowl over the Cowboys defense and brush off the remains.

That said the offense is jumbled mess, I have 0 confidence in them in a big game against a really good team or in any playoff situation. Sure against the Bears or Lions,Jaguars, etc. but when it will count the most- Nope.

The defense has major trouble stopping chunk plays in run defense. The QB was poor yesterday in a playoff type atmosphere (the Packers had to have that win for any chance at the postseason). The teams the Cowboys lost to are the Bucs, Eagles, and Packers -all the games with potential playoff seeding and top end pecking order. The team gets exposed when the pressure builds to playoff type atmosphere-they shrink rather than rise to the top. It’s from the top down. Micah is injured and does not look his explosive self (needs to sit for several weeks).

A lot of blame to go down. Dak interceptions was a 10 point swing at least.

However, the defense on 4th and 7 had a chance to ice the game and they gave up a touchdown. Then had another chance to stop them on the next possession and can’t get that stop.

I think that the Packers mismanagement of the clock really helped the Cowboys because I think the Packers could have ended it in regulation.
