Holy Crap!

I wouldn't be surprised if Dallas ran a 3 CB, 1 FS defense as their base defense. Parcells was mentioning this on his draft confidential the other night. You got to be able to play man to man coverage on 1st down against a 3 wide set.

Help me out Zoners, is he supposed to be Revis good? Is there any concern about his size?

I hope it is like that , Mike Jenkins is not that bad to give up on him , too soon. Unless he can be traded to get us back in round 2 .

Where are we getting a guard /Center , DL and TE?

Call me a TROLL, but man Claiborne is going to have a love hate relationship in Dallas. He didnt look happy and Jason and Jerry gave up a lot to get him.

He was crying and seemed excited.

Wow, I'm really surprised by the forum reaction. Seems like most everyone really loves this move/pick.

I personally would have preferred
1) keep the two picks and get 2 players
2) get a passrusher

But if he's a shutdown guy...well that's something.

not me
this board is full of homers so they will "love" anything jerry does no matter how ridiculous it is

this is a jerry move all the way

caliborne is a good player but we needed OL and front 7 help

all flash and no substance, the essence of jerry's cowboys

The 2nd guessing will be even more intense if Cox falls to 14 range.

Especially if the Eagles get him...

But they haven't exactly evaluated DL too well lately.

Or maybe they realized Jenkins has been one of the key components of the worst secondary in the NFL and needed to be upgraded.

Hate to give up the 2nd rounder, but happy that we got the #1 rated cb in the draft. Like someone already mentioned, I'm also glad our top 3 cbs are locked up for several seasons.

He is comparable to a healthy Mike Jenkins, not a Patrick Peterson or even a young TNEW. Heavy price to pay,

A first and a second for a corner... I bet RisenStar loves it.

Exactly what I was thinking. Seriously though, this guy had better be special because I HATE giving up a 2.

Philly just traded up to 12. Cox likely their target. Giving up a 4th and 6th (plus swapping firsts).

Claiborne: Everyone in my family is a Cowboys fan: I started crying when they took me.

Norm is acting kinda crazy. Norm is acting like Dallas is kicking Jenkins out to make this trade. Unless you think Jenkins is worth resigning to market value, you were going to kick him out anyway after this year. Then what? Sign next year's version of Brandon Carr for another $50 million?

Exactly.

Jenkins wasn't their kind of guy and this would have been his last season anyway.

If you can get anything decent take it.

Otherwise, you have 3 very good cornerbacks.

A significant change from where we were at season's end.

Will lament not getting DeCastro but can't argue with getting the draft's best CB and what some call a 'perennial Pro Bowler'.

Complete and utter nonsense. Jenkins was a late 1st round pick who was nothing special in a mid level college program. Claiborne was the consensus best defensive players in the draft, one of the 6 super blue chippers in the draft and the probably the best player on one of the best defenses in the country (and before the MNC a defense people called he best we've seen in college in years)
