Sumlin has been there for 3 years and recruited these guys. Strong recruited none of these guys. He put the team on notice that it would be his way or the highway on day one. It was reported immediately that some guys had trouble fitting in with his ways. So to those that follow UT football the rape case was a surprise, but the other names aren't and were already in the doghouse. There are others that won't be that big of a surprise if they are cut. HUGE difference, IMO. You're seeing guys that didn't get with the program of the new regime vs guys that were recruited by and have been under Sumlin their entire college football careers.
Those guys are Longhorns, regardless whether they're Mack's recruits or Strong's recruits. These same guys had the chance to buy in to Strong's program when he got there and "warned them" about his rules. They chose to stick around, which to me means they agreed to play by Strong's rules, and then subsequently broke either those team rules or the law.
That's just like the above Aggies are Aggies, regardless if they were recruited by Sumlin or the previous coach (Mike Sherman). At least two of those guys are holdovers from before Sumlin got there too, FYI. Sumlin is just starting his 3rd year of coaching at A&M.
