Horrible Deal

Trading a high second, a third and a fifth to move up a few slots is just a horrible deal. The Cleveland deal was so sweet it diminishes the stupidity. We wanted someone bad and we over-reached. The Eagles suckered us just like we suckered the Browns. Oh well, it was nice while it lasted.

I don't love the deal, but I don't hate it as much as you do apparently. I just hope things work out for the best.

Blah.... you can't expect to come out on top when you're moving up. I don't see what's so hard to understand about that.

According to the all mighty chart, we gave up only 30 points to get this guy. Not to bad.

It's the difference between getting a player that you want and grade as a first-round value, and not having your top-rated players available when it's your turn to draft.

So we get the guy we wanted (Spencer) by moving down 4 spots and giving up a 3 and a 5 while getting in return a sure top 10 pick next year?

Yeah but it's clear we were targeting Spencer. We had his name turned in at #22 before the trade was done.

I like the deal. I think the problem a lot of people have is that we traded with a division rival.

There's a greater chance of Spencer killing McNabb than the 3rd and 5th hurting Dallas.

I thought this thread may be different from the others that were crying about the trade.

I was wrong.

I don't mind moving up, but not giving up a (really high) 2nd, a 3rd and a 5th. I don't know about the chart but that just sounds crazy.

Of course, I hope it works out too.... I just think we had a great opportunity to really cash in and we squandered or traded it for one guy.

Well not to be too blunt with you, but you obviously don't understand trading.

Well, according to the chart, we gave up 730 points for the 700 necessary. So, we lost 30 points. Not that big of a deal.

This is, I think, how things went.

Eagles wanted Brandon Merrwither, but NE snagged him at @24. eagles were pissed and no player they want is worth for a #26. They made a trade with us and screwed up the NE.

NE trade #28 away after we got Spencer.

we really have some fans who dont get it sometimes

Jones makes a great deal for the future, and at the same time we get the guy we wanted to help us now- and somebody cries???
