I wouldn't be shocked if we went 4-12. I also would be shocked if we went 10-6.

But since this team is "this team", I'll go ahead and say that we'll end up 8-8 once again and out of the playoffs. However, we'll play just good enough to warrant keeping Garrett around and putting off finding Romo's replacement.

I'd love to see this offense come out better than last years. I'd like to see them look sharp, on tempo and have a game plan that puts the defense on its heels for once. I'd like them to run the ball when they want to and I want them to run it with some attitude and try to keep the Dallas defense off the field.

I want the defense to play hard and find its identity this year. Play with some fire, the talent and depth isn't there but at least play hard.

I'd love to see the Coaching staff grow up. Stop with the panic attacks and the lack of an identity. Stop leaving the offense all on Romo. Everything seems disjointed and coaching by committee…a very non-desisive group.

I don't think much of what I'd like to happen is likely too happen. The coaching staff is prideful and stubborn. The defense is empty of talent. The offense is one hard sack away from going into a hard tailspin.

7-9 and 5-11 if Romo goes out. Here is an interesting question/statement: I think Parcells could get 9 -10 wins out of this group, they'd never go anywhere in the post season but I think the right coach could get more out of this team.

No, the first number is the amount of wins this team will have in 2014. The second number is the amount of losses expected in 2014, and surprisingly the same number as your IQ.

A 511 IQ n that's bad???

math says 7-9 schedule says 6-10 bad luck says 5-11 good luck says 9-7..this stupid Cowboys fan says 10-6.... i was factoring in "Homer". After all theses years if you don't have at-least two games of homer in you ,you need to find another way to express your self. i'm tired of apologizing for being a fan. I've got to have it covered somewhere.

I'm done making predictions...but I'm not going into this season thinking all is lost before it even begins.

We lost Lee last year as well, Ware has not played good ball since 2011 much of it due to injury but non the less he was a non factor last season so what did we lose in not having him this year? Hatcher he is out right now with a knee injury. Mean time I do think guys who are entering their 2nd and 3rd season and 2nd season in the same system it a plus not to
mention
we had a lot of street FA coming and going last season with no camp, signed on Monday and playing on Sunday this season at least the unit has guys who have gone through training camp with the team.

I find it strange that Ware was so great that we had the worst defense in team history? I like him but he has not done anything for the Cowboys in a while

Name me anyone as good as him that we have now.

It's the same old cliche, they're suddenly better when they put on the star and never as good when they take it off.

I've never seen a third place schedule look this hard before...I can't see this team winning more than losing to the likes of the Niners, Saint's and Colts at home, let alone the Bears, Seahawks and Cardinals on the road. And that's not even looking at an improved NFC East. I'm expecting a 5-11 seasons so my expectations are low. I'll be pleasantly surprised if we get anywhere near a winning record. Worst case scenario, like others have stated, is that we go 8-8 again & we miss the playoffs in December and Garrett keeps his job

Is the schedule really all that tough.... it may look like it is more tough because the way it is layed out. But is it really?

49ers, Saints, Seahawks, and 2 of those are at home.
Bears, Colts, possibly the Cardinals, and 2 of those are at home.

Titans, Rams [without Bradford now], Texans, Jaguars

Then the NFC East, are you that afraid of any of these teams, that we couldn't be 4-2 against.

Yeah, I guess I am.

The only team I think we can beat in the NFC West is the now Bradford-less Rams. And that one is still a maybe.

Bears? Didn't we see enough last year? With a backup QB? When our team quit?

And no, I don't see us beating the Colts either. When backups can shred this defense imagine what Luck will do.

Texans, Jags, sure. But I don't see us beating the Eagles and maybe we'll split with NY and Washington.

A win against the Titans gives us the 5 I predicted.

Sorry, but that's how I see it.

You haven't even seen the defense in a real game yet!

So, tell us...who on defense will be the starters on opening day?

(that's what I thought)

Holy cow! Two weeks to go and neither we nor the team knows who, but leave it to the 'faithful' to try to spin that as a good thing...

Pick a dumpster, dive in, find a player and call them a starter.

Ooh, maybe it's all part of a clever scheme, the latest secret sauce!

We'll hide all of our talent on defense so the league can't see it!

Brilliant!

6-10. Our run defense is putrid and we can't cover anyone. Recipe for disaster. If you thought last year's defense was bad, we are in for a treat this year.

And our OL is not as good as people thought. But that was proven a few nights ago. And the offense in general is not that explosive as everyone was saying in the offseason.

This is about where I am landing. I agree with those who say we had a horrific defense last year, it can't be all that worse this year, and if anything the offense looks a little better. Dez looks primed for a contract year blitz and if Romo can stay upright to deliver the ball we'll probably do what we always do - win some games we should lose, lose some games we should win, have Garrett blow two of them for us and Romo save two of them for us, probably ending in a Week 17 4th Quarter INT from somebody.

Assuming the Giants and Skins remain miserable (can I get an amen!?!) and Kelly continues to ignore his defense, 8-8 sounds about right. We can win this terrible division for sure, and only because it stinks, but anyone who thinks that leads to anything other than a Vikings-type whipping in the first round is really kidding themselves. And worse that probably leads to a Garrett extension.

*insert if Romo goes down disclaimer here....

Lol. Sure, my record in these style wagers is impeccable ask around. What did you have in mind?

You stated with confidence that the Cowboys would win 5 games this season.

If they win 5 games or less you will own my avatar and sig during this coming offseason (from the draft till wk 1 2015). If they win 6 games or more I will own your avatar and sig during that same time frame.

Ya dig?

Frankly, I am not convinced we break six wins. If that happens to be the case, so long as we locate and develop a couple of defensive keepers along the way, the season would not be a complete loss for me.

And you also stated with confidence that they'd be in the 10 range, did you not?

So how is a bet at 5 fair?

Splitting the difference at say 7 seems more fair, don't you think?

Only once in Romo's tenure was his record a losing record and that was 2010 when he only played 6 games. With him at QB, no way I can see this team not winning at minimum 8 games. No matter how bad the D is, this team has not quit on Garrett the way the vets of 2010 quit on Wade. Couple that with a QB who doesn't post losing seasons and you're right in the middle of the pack at worst and maybe a division winner at best.

Just my two pennies....

It's going to be a rough year. We're going to have a tough time winning 12 or more games.
