I try to avoid melting down, but the Green Bay games made me want to chew my TV screen. Had to take a chill pill, but settled for a couple of fingers of Crown.
The preseason games are totally meaningless, even if we win.
I have a work friend who won't visit his brother on game day 'cuz it's literally not safe near the TV!

Here are the rules:
If Cowboys play poorly - calm down, it's early, they have too many injuries, they're soooo young, (insert excuse here).

If Jason Garrett makes a bad decision - quit complaining, it's clearly someone else's fault.

If a call goes against us - the league is out to get us,

If Jeff Heath hits a guy going out of bounds, 14 yards down the field - OH MY GOD! PUT HIM IN THE HALL OF FAME!

If you aren't applauding everything this team does, then you are not a real fan.

i recently came over from the old Cowboys message board during the offseason. So I am a rookie for the game threads.

Just wondering how bad this board melts down when it ain’t going our way. I will give fair warning that my posts are very critical and sometimes “slightly” negative during the game. It’s like I expect them to be perfect or something. Lol. I usually come back to reality after the game, unless we lose and then I snap blame people for the loss for a few days. If it’s close and we win I kool out.

But the Dez catch - non catch I melted down for a month. A lot of us from the old boards did. I still do. And the last game with Byron admiring rodgers instead of covering his guy RIGHT BEHIND HIM.

Any ways was just wondering. And want to appologize in advance for myself and some of my brothers from the old boards. I do however stay within the rules of the board.

Dude this board will melt down 3 plays into the game lol. We act like a bunch of school girls and most of us you'd never want to go to war with lol.

On the message board I usually keep myself somewhat together, but at home it used to he real bad lol.

Thankfully my little girl watches the games with me now, and whenever I trash talk anyone she makes certain to explain to me they are human beings and have family's, hopes and dreams ect. Consequently my days of punching holes in the wall and ripping the shirt off my back and flinging it at the tv are over.

I don't think I'm going to melt down nearly as bad if things don't go our way tomorrow.

Mainly because this is the first season opener in a very long time that I am genuinely concerned/not sure about.

The last game the Cowboys lost that upset me was the Green Bay playoff game in 2016. Now, win or lose, I enjoy the game just the same. I just laugh about the losses. It pisses the homers off making jokes about the game, but it is what it is. Not going to allow a loss to spoil my mood anymore.

I envy you, seriously. I know it’s just a game and doesn’t effect me personally in any way (other than emotionally) but I still haven’t been able to come to peace with a loss with the exception of once or twice and I have no idea how that happened.

@Trouty will appreciate this. Definitely not all the time but the worst is when I’m so inebriated and po’d after a loss that when I wake up the next morning I don’t remember what happened and I have to relive the loss and get pissed off all over again. #realtalk

It was the same way over at the DC.com board. We had a poster in the game day thread complain about passing on 3rd and short, demanding we run the ball. Later in game we have 3rd and short and run outside. Poster complained we should have ran up the middle. Later in same game, we run up the middle on 3rd and short and don’t get first down and he complained we should have passed because everyone knew we would run. It was great watching that sequence.

Everyone hates "playcalling" after the play didn't work, even when it's obvious the failure was in execution.

Some fans want a TD on every drive, the ball to be perfect with in hands reach right in front of them, to make a sack on every down, to run for 40 on every down, to make an interception on every throw, and for every team to be shut out 52-0, otherwise we suck. That's the game-day thread.
