We need a stud rushing end. I like Lawrence but he's not that guy. The rest of the DEs we have range from decent to JAGs. It's still laughable that the front office thought this collection of DEs would solve our pass rushing issues. We need a better SS (despite Church playing better this year). Another CB and a MLB.

Maybe we get lucky and Smith is healthy and takes care of LB. Then if we get lucky with Tapper and Gregory, suddenly things are falling into place.

I could also see Smith helping us as a blitzing LB.

Close to the best in the league? Close to elite? No.

Close to pretty good. With a healthy Claiborne and Church back, our secondary is elite.

Considering Marinelli doesn't like to blitz a lot, I wouldn't count on that. Now if we got a new coordinator, possibly.

The defense plays good prevent and game control.

The secondary is actually, pretty good, when healthy.

Jones and Claiborne both are talented enough to be selections for the Pro Bowl. Sean Lee is a true playmaker.

The defensive line needs to be able to generate more pressure when needed during a game.

Go through the league and detract all the qualifiers you can think of, and at the end of the day, it is what it is.

Great to see the surprising quickness that resides in that big body of Maliek Collins.

Thornton appears to be making nice progress now and doing better in pass rushing.

Nevertheless, the DL has a long way to go before it becomes a pass rushing beast.

Why can't we enjoy the defense? They are doing exactly what is being asked of them and excelling at it.

They are forcing field goals and not giving up TD's. I realize the offense plays a critical role in the defense but this is the team we have. Without 4 critical stops last week by the defense Wonderboy is trying to explain why the offense faltered last week.

This is a defensive thread and we are talking about the defense.

even when we were leading big, just nervous watching the lack of pass rush most of the time
brown qb had tons of time until the very end imo
he probably had pretty good numbers
bend but not break is the philosophy, but the pass rush just bothers me

I would have to see the numbers but I know we rushed 3 on a lot of occasions today and I think that was the gameplan going in. It wasn't our goal to put pressure on the QB but we did at least get some pressure. .....for whatever reason.

I thought it was a conservative game plan but I will take 10 points every week. One of the Brown's strengths has been their offense.
