How Can A 6' 5" QB Get So Many Passes Batted At The LOS?...

...this amazes me! You would think it was Kevin Sweeney playing QB for the Boys. I've never seen a QB as tall as Bledsoe, (who is HUGE), get that many passes batted at the LOS. For goodness sakes, find a lane to throw in!!

You can count on at least one batted pass a game. The first offensive play of the game for us and Bledsoe can't find a lane to throw in.Unbelievable!!

Also props to JJ for standing there like a guy waiting for a meteorite to hit him on the head as he waited for Daniels to run over him!

cuz, Bledsoe has a VERY low release. It's almost sidearmed.

On many of his short passes he does throw sidearm....

I think the real reason is we can not create a running lane, much less a passing lane :banghead:

It's because the D-linemen are so close to him they could be slow dance partners.

If the Dline isnt engaged they stand straight up and bat the ball down. Our O line has some fobia against engaging the D line.

No, (I certainly understand your point), but I think it's been a problem his whole career. Anyone keep stats on something like batted passes?

I don't remember who said this but, an analyst said, the biggest misconception about QBs and the height is, that, QBs don't throw over the Lineman most of the time. They throw in the lanes or openings, i.e. the routes and protection schemes are designed to provide QBs getting a line of vision or window to throw.

I guess when a QB is getting lot of passes batted down, then it means either the lanes are not open or QB is not putting it there when the window was open etc. Not sure what the case with Bledsoe would be.

This is part of the problem.

After watching how free their lineman was to jump and bat that pass I watched the Skins next possession and their OL kept our lineman engaged to where they had a difficult time jumping, much less timing their jump.

But our OL isn't ready for a nuance like that. They need to start by even being able to make contact with their opponent. My goodness our OL is bad.

6' 5" isnt that big when everybody on the line of scrimmage is that big as well. plus you have to take things in consideration like, oh idk, jumping. on the batted pass yesterday he must have been a good foot in the air

Parcells tried tinkering with Bledsoe's throwing motion earlier in his career but it never made much of a difference. If you recall, in a preseason (?) game against us in the mid-90s, that was one of the keys to look for, whether or not Bledsoe could maintain a higher release point.

Very simple...It's called NO PASSING LANE...It's not like he's going against midgets out there...

Great... the guy is slow... inaccurate... lacks touch... and now we find he plays "short" too. LOL!

The agony never ends.

He could be 7 feet tall and still have passes batted down if he's playing against somebody like Alex Brown.

on the first play of the guy the defensive end is lined up over tucker...instead of blocking him he lets him run in free and he blocks the DT..so julius has to get upto the line and block him on a 3 step drop...either we have bad line calls or tucker is juss a moron

You are unbelievable. He's completing 61% of his passes behind a god awful line with basically no running game. Teams now are sending 4 and easily beating our Max protection schemes.

Tucker was a human turnstile.

You can say that again....Tucker is a JOKE

Sometimes three men rushes get to him, it's really sad. How much money do we have tied in this group (sans The Hotel) ?

Yeah, Nors... I agree the offensive line is poor. But Bledsoe is doing them no favors at all.
