How can anyone defend these coaches?

Actually, playing well against quality teams matters a lot more to me than being in 1st place in the worst division in the NFL in November. If that's asking too much, then we've all managed to move the goalposts clear out of the stadium.

Tell that to Seattle today. They must be very depressed there.

Where is ScipioCowboy when I need him? He is the one who tells us to stick to the facts and all that matters is the record. He said that a win today would represent improvement. Where is he?

You call what you witnessed today as improvement? I don't this team is getting worse by the week.

In your own twisted mind... Not something I would go pounding my chest over. But hey go shake the Pom pom's over barely beating a pathetic 1-7 team with a terrible QB

It's called a touch of sarcasm and humor... its not real :)

I actually think the rest of you have no point. So if I have made the point that you have no point I'm happy to make my point. Only in Dallas do we complain

a. After a win
b. After staying in 1st place.

But if you desire to remain miserable, be my guest.

Thanks for the unneeded permission.

And live it up in mediocrity.

Tell all your friends.

I like it. Today we scored when we had to to win. Today we held them on defense when we had to to win. Today our record improved to 5-4. Today we are one step closer to the division title and playoffs. All of that is better than last week. = improvement. Be happy.

But did the team actually improve or was this just the worst team on the schedule?

We don't match up well against the Vikings? I actually think they play right into our few strengths.

The offense did what they always do. Nothing to start a game and rely heavily on the defense then pick things up in the second half. It was a familiar script.

Our run defense isn't great esp over LDE the last time I looked. You are really putting pressure on the secondary to come up and tackle. But of course any team is pressured if they have to play the run first. It opens up the passing game greatly. And we have a very hard time defending the pass. I knew this was going to be a tough game for us and said AD was going to get the ball and we'd have trouble stopping him. That's not rocket science. Our defense doesn't do a lot well although they have been decent at creating turnovers.

We won, improved our record, without Claiborne, without Ware, our first week without Waters, with a greatly hindered Murray.... yea, I'm happy

Man...I bet in the early to mid 90's you had a completely different mentality. I bet it was about going for the throat. (I could be wrong, but I bet 17+ years of this has you grasping for a glimmer that was once saved for St. Louis/Arizona fans in our division).

Yawn come talk to me when we beat a team with a winning record. Beating a 1-7 team is not improvement

No pun intended but let's not use common sense in here please...that's not what Jerruh would want. (Hey do you know we are the most popular? Who cares that it's not a Super Bowl right?)

Gotta run now... wish I could keep discussing this with you guys. Have fun telling each other how miserable we are :) You have a 1st place team at the moment.

Heh. Who needs Super Bowls when you're the perennial world champions of the Relevance Bowl?

Good teams find a way to beat the bad ones. That's how we tell them apart. No, this win was not a thing of beauty, but this is the NFL. You take wins any way you can get them. And believe me, the talent level on the Vikings is not 1-7.

Don't good teams find ways to beat the good ones, too?
