He actually has 2 Super Bowl rings as a backup, and he earned both of them in spades. He started 6 games over the two Super Bowl winning seasons, and the 49ers went 5-1 when he started and he posted better numbers than Montana over the stretch. You can make a strong case that in at least one of the seasons the 49ers would not have made the playoffs without him. I know there are levels to all of this and a long snapper's "ring" isn't the same as a QBs "ring", but Young very much earned all 3 of his rings. I think people sometimes forget the details.

If you asked Young which ring he is most proud of, I'm pretty sure he would say the one where he started the entire season and then started and won the Super Bowl. Competitors want to compete at the highest level, and there's no higher level than the Super Bowl.
So I'm not discounting his efforts in helping the 49ers win in those other years. I'm just saying I don't think he would have felt complete had he not won a Super Bowl as the starter.

Hence, his "take this monkey off my back" quote following the Super Bowl victory against the Chargers.

And I agree... I just feel the need to point out when the opportunity arises that Young's other 2 rings aren't the same as the idle rings that Romo and Sanchez would collect if the season ends well. Again, don't think everybody out there knows the facts.

Dak & Zeke are cancelling each other out & because of that, it makes it hard to pick 1 over the other & thus it allows other players to leap ahead of them. It's garbage but it is what it is.

When the news came out that Tony Romo had fractured his L1 vertebra, Everyone in the NFL thought "Oh no here comes 2015 all over again". We even contacted the Browns about trading for Josh McCown (Thank goodness Micheal Irvin helped in talking Jerry out of that move). Now fast forward to week 16 and we are one win away from home-field advantage throughout the playoffs. So as great as Zeke has been, How can Dak Prescott not be this year's MVP?

Kind of odd that on one hand you have the side that Romo should now start and another group that favor Dak as the MVP of the league. Go figure.

If MVP really means what the initials say it does, then no.
Love what Dak is doing but I don't see him as even a true MVP candidate (as in top 4-5), let alone the winner.

I love Dak but he's not even the most valuable player on our team much less the rest of the league.

Fair enough. :)

It's been talked about many times here in the last few weeks but there are certain unwritten rules for the MVP and he just doesn't qualify. The award is kind of weirdly rigged in that way.

Don't let people suck you into these arguments. You're better than that Super...you're better than that.

Why? Because without Zeke I highly doubt the team is 12-2. I can't say the same about Dak if Romo was healthy and QB-ing the team. Romo has done something comparable without a player of Zeke's caliber, though Murray did put up good numbers in 2014, whereas it is an unknown if Dak could do the same thing.

Because Zeke is the MVP.
Unfortantely this is probably the best answer. Zeke and our OL.

I think I'd have to pick Carr ahead of Dak because he doesn't have the OL or RB to support him.

Raiders will be making their first playoff appearance since 2002 and Carr is why.

Most thought the Cowboys would have been in the playoffs with Romo. That doesn't discount our sensational season Dak has had but probably not the MVP season.

Zeke should be the MVP. If he breaks that Dickerson record, the it should be automatic
Remember Dickerson didn't win MVP that season either.

There hasn't been a Rookie win the MVP in modern era. I believe Jim Brown in 1957 was the last.

Dak and Zeke will win Rookie and offensive player of the years awards.

Because people are dumb. This same team went 4-12 last year. Romo's last year with this same group of guys yielded 5 TDs 7 INTs and several pick 6s. Zeke is fantastic but has a role that doesn't require much intelligence, preparation, and also is in a completely devalued and interchangeable position.

50% of people are clueless. A large part of other half hates seeing a 4th round rookie tear through the NFL like it is nothing. Put Dak's stats on Brady, Carr, Winston, etc... And you have a unanimous MVP.

It makes no difference to me if he wins mvp or not... I believe Dak feels the same way. I also say this thinking Zeke is one of the best RBs I've ever seen. Im a huge fan of his.
