How can we afford Lamb and Dak?

But if they decide Dak is in decline, what's the point of continuing with him?
Because there is no other option (right now) until Lance is ready. I'm rooting for the Cowboys to hit it big with Lance and have another steal at QB but right now nobody knows if he'll be a superstar or playing in the USFL in a couple years.

He's not the only QB to consider, but I know what you mean.

Great franchises know how to cut losses when needed.

Dak haters look away now.

The Cowboys can simply extend Dak a few more years and reduce his annual cap hit. Add that to the fact the cap will steadily increase and they can easily afford not only Dak and Lamb, but Parsons too.

And to be fair, as has been stated here above, the Cowboys can, indeed, move on from Dak after 6-1-24. Of course, that means they would have to be 100 percent convinced about Trey Lance by then, which I can't see how they could be.
They can definitely extend his contract but if he insists on a no trade clause again, see ya.

Barring a horrible injury CeeDee and Parsons will get second contracts. Not to say that Dak will be a June 1 cut but the 25 million cap charge is not bad. I mean Russ and Rodgers were way more for Seattle and Green Bay. Still Dak would have to have catastrophic injury to be a post June 1 cut but I can’t see letting him play on the cap charge of almost 60 million. France is such $&@t so it will be interesting especially if Dak has a big season. Dak just take the offer the Cowboys are offering it may not be 50 million but I guarantee it is top 5 in overall value for a quarterback but will be a 6 year deal.

Great news about Steele, but where does the money come to make offers to Dak and Lamb? Please give your thoughts? Do you think Ceedee will want a max deal, we better hurry before Jefferson signs
money for lamb gets pushed to the future. reality is Dak will probably get extended as he has huge cap numbers and dead cap. with those numbers we are not going to be able to stay under the cap. so money pushed to future years.
lawrence probably comes off the books. that's 13M. cap is expected to jump significantly in 2024. its no different than what eagles did with Hurts. his cap hits the first couple of years are chump change and then it becomes and extension game.

Why should CD that much less?

I'm not saying your wrong, just curious as to what leads you that. If he explodes this season he could very well be over 30 mil a year.
I got news for you, CD is up for extension now. If they're not giving him one they have some doubts. Don't think Parsons will play out his 4th year. Not going to happen. If CD doesn't get an extension before this season starts, it's because they're not sure.

The cap isn't much more than smoke and mirrors.

The cap is NOT the reason we haven't had postseason success.

As far as Dak getting paid again, I'll say the same thing I said last time. I don't think it's in his best interest financially to ask for top dollar. It has nothing to do with whether or not he deserves it. I think he would make more by taking a ridiculously team-friendly deal and then using that as a marketing point. Some of the other positions don't have that same marketing clout. CeeDee isn't going to command the same marketing dollars at WR that Dak could at QB. Most positions outside of the QB don't. I wouldn't take a team friendly deal if I'm them. But if I'm Dak, I would seriously back up to a crazy low deal and then put my PR guys to work. I know that isn't going to happen. But if it did, I think he could end up with more money, better team chemistry and possibly a ring out of the deal.

Not sure about CeeDee? What are you smoking. 2nd team All-Pro, best receiver in the playoffs and is 24 years of age. The only question about CeeDee is whether he is on par with Jefferson/Chase. CeeDee is under contract for two more years. There is no holdup. Stephen is working hard on two deals. They got Terrence out of the way. CeeDee is next. Dak is betting on himself.

Ok. Where's the contract? You extend players you want to keep after 3 years. I guess we'll see his extension before the season starts? Don't give me the two years left crap. All top rookies get extended after their 3rd year. If you want to wait on that, there's an issue.

Cap has been the reason for a lot of directions taken with players and sustaining roster has forced better results on player evaluations and the draft. Not actually, nothing although...

..QB is always priority. Because rarity of the position. WR on other hand, come in better ratios.

All you need is receivers with good feet and hands. Heart to play the game.

CD deserves a good deal, not Elite deal.

Think that Stephen would just up and quit if he can't resign CD Lamb? He would be very...very shocked.

Tons of ways to manipulate the cap. Tbh if Dak wants to be here and win he needs to take considerably less. He is a 30m / year qb.
He wants to be a $60 mil QB. He'll be competing against Lance next TC.

Cap increases every year. CD will get a top end deal say top 5 but won't get what the elite elite guys get unless he goes up another level this year.
He is already considered a "top top guy" for some reason - his ranking in the top 100 this year says that he is. He's going to want a top 3 WR deal.

They for sure will go over 30. JJ is the key for us. Need to sign cd before prices keep going up with JJs new deal. Chase is one year behind.
If you are Lamb then you wait until Jefferson is paid then ask for a couple of million less per year. Lamb probably yets circa $28 million per year.
