How can you not be passionate for Dak?

I just wish Dak was actually talented in the areas that make a great QB, i.e arm talent, pocket awareness, pre-snap reads, and being mentally tough..
In 2016 when he had his stud LT and not a sniff of Chaz Freaking Green on the field he balled out. That's in the book.
In 2017, mostly without the services of his stud LT (and the unfortunate appearance of Chad "Six Sacks In One Game" Green) he regressed a bit. That's also in the books.
I tend to be a glass half full guy and I don't envision any games this year with Chaz Green in the mix. That bodes well for Dak and the offense as a whole.
As much as we like to pin it all on the QB, the offensive line is the true direction plotter in the overall scheme.

He seems like a great kid that says and does all the right things, I like the guy, I just think he is a very limited QB.
Given what my eyes have seen at Mississippi State and in Dallas, I don't find him limited at all. This year is going to be his true breakout year. All of the detracting influences are in the rear view. (Babysitting a ball dropping WR, having a HoF TE that runs routes that just no longer represent who he truly has meant to Dallas, having his play calling options limited due to the initial detractor I mentioned)
It is going to be an upward swinging year. The Zeke/Dak connection is going to be better than ever.... Not to mention the buzz around them actually having true support on the defensive side of the ball this year. It's looking bright.

But he can be a good game manager and teams can and have won with that type of QB, we just need to get everything else around him to an elite level, because he does not have elite talent so we have to make up for that..
I just don't get the "he doesn't have elite talent" narrative. He was successful in the SEC and had a season in 2016 that I know even his most staunchest of current critics were salivating over in that year. He now has numerous WR weapons around him that:
1. Won't cry and demand the ball 247
2. Will run crisp routes
3. Will be where they're supposed to be when they're supposed to be there.
4. Will instill trust that contributes to so much high potential in the passing game this year.

I am looking forward to a good year as I think the D is approaching elite level, the OL and RB are elite level
Agree.

so we should be fine with him, all he has to do is not turn the ball over, hand it to zeke and make the 5 yard throw on 3rd down.
So... 2016 Dak... I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. You and many others. Just like you were in 2016.

I won't be surprised at all.

Those tears from laughter. Nice flip flop. It wont work. :lmao2:
Your problem is you automatically think anyone that pulled for Romo to succeed must not want Dak to as well.
That's bs. I've ALWAYS said it doesn't have to be either/or. Always.

Go find a thread where I am bashing Dak or saying I don't want him as our QB
Just one.
It shouldn't be to hard unless you're lying through your teeth....again.

Otherwise shut the **** up

There are a few reasons people are against Dak

1. They cannot let Romo go and they blame Dak.
2. They blame Dak for Jerry and Son cutting Dez.
3. They started off arguing that Dak was not any good and they are invested in his failure.
4. Their pet cat QB was not drafted instead of Dak.
5. He had a down year compared to his first year (which happens a lot ) and they are overreacting.
6. They do not like that he is not a traditional pocket passer.
7. Did not like his college team.
8. Think he is too over-hyped.
9. Think he parties to much.
10. Do not like the way he looks (and that is as far as I am allowed to go on that subject)

I think Dak will be our franchise QB for a long time .......I love the kid.

Anyone catch the irony that everyone who caught a pass in that game is probably gone? Dez and Witten are already gone and Rod Smith will likely be gone if Bo proves he's the athlete that he is and can play special teams. Several Switzer appearances too, also gone.

That's what makes me sad about last year's highlights - so many of those guys are gone including Butler. We really are starting anew, but the needle is definitely pointing upward. I'm just as intrigued by the defense as I am the offense.

First, I won't be surprised. I think the team can and will be successful this coming year. I have said many times, that as long as we don't need Dak to do to much, he will be fine and we will games.

You kinda made my point for me, as long as we have elite level talent around him, he can function at a good level. It's when things aren't elite around him, i.e. the OL that he falls apart. This was his biggest issue at State and it is still an issue as we saw last year. Yes, the man took a beating in ATL. No QB could perform at a high level with that type of protection, I don't fault him for that game at all. But it clearly messed with him, i.e. no mental toughness. He went into a shell. I would hope that if we are counting on him to be the guy moving forward, its during those times he elevates his game and those around him. He didn't.

I personally want a QB that can put the team on their back and carry them, when needed (hopefully that is not very often). Dak has not proved to me he can do that. Until he does, I won't think he is a franchise QB. That doesn't mean we won't have success or that he will not play well when everything is going good. But I am always an optimistic fan when it comes to the team. I do think we have good team with the potential to be very good to great - this year. And don't confuse my lack of giddiness over Dak to represent I hope he fails. It quite the opposite, I want the team to win a SB every year and I don't care who the coach, QB, owner, etc are.. doesn't matter to me, I want a SB. So every game, i am there rooting and hoping that the team plays well and we win, period. But I feel it's ok to discuss the team open and honestly with other fans, even those we don't agree with and still wish the best for team.

You have no idea what exactly you have yet at QB having not yet hit year 3. So why not just sit back & enjoy the ride?

I view him as much more than just a game manager down the stretch but that's the eternal optimist in me speaking mixed with a little eye test.

Comparing him to Romo is a waste of time. Obviously he isn't that good... maybe some day.

The people who played football at some point in their life, and have followed it for years, said exactly what was going to happen during and after the 2016 season.

Defenses will stack the box, they will take away the short passes, and not worry about the lucky runs, here and there, or the lucky deep passes here and there.

That was what happened...

Then when it went south in 2017, people starting crying that it was because everyone loved Romo and hated Dak. That wasn't the case at all...

It was just that obvious, that it would go down that way.

The question is... can Dak read defenses more reliably, and make defenses honest, by threatening with his arm? If he can do that...

Then it is a whole other ball game. Until that happens, he will be in Romo's shadow, and constantly compared. No way around that, whether people think is is Romo cry babies or not.

the only thing that happened in 2017 was the collapse of the Oline and suspension of Zeke. Up until that moment Dak was headed for another incredible year. Even with the collapse his first two years rank up there with the best and better then some of the greats of the game. QB play it takes time. But Dak has shown even at a young age that he can play top notch when the pieces around him are on place. To expect a 2nd year QB to dominate the NFL with bad receivers, a bad oline, no run game, average defense, and poor coaching is beyond laughable.

Dak is a dual threat QB and at this time his passing skills are not elite level. Romo in his prime had that part nailed. Loved the guy. Gunslinger type no doubt.

Because hes an average passer at best, and I want better for my favorite team?

I swear some folks on here would take Dak over Tom Brady or Aaron Rodgers

Then perhaps the team should have made a move to get Goff or Wentz instead of allowing Philly and LA to move up for the QBs. They knew the QB position was an injury liability and we didn't make adequate plans for the future.

Hey Roy. How about a mutual block.
Then I can pull for Dak and Romo and not listen to saying I'm not.
And you can avoid reading the imaginary stuff that you think I've ever said about Dak.
Agree?
Mutual blocks?

I wanted Garoppolo from the get go... and it is going to be obvious why, over the course of his career.

Well actually after the first time I saw him play in the NFL I should say. You could see all the pieces were there with him.
