How comfortable are you with our QB position

Two questions I have specifically about the backup QB position.

A. How comfortable are you with Kellen Moore as the backup?

B. If we don't draft a QB in round 1 or 2, should a vet QB be brought in and who?

please answer the 2 questions before you go on your rants.

Not comfortable at all with moore as the backup. If 3rd string, probably ok with it. If we pick a QB in the draft to groom as the future QB, then prefer a vet over Moore.
But also depends, if Romo goes down, and not out long, then I am probably ok with Moore.
Long term, give me the vet, unless the QB we take is Wentz or Goff or Lynch. Most anyone else, need that vet.

A. How comfortable are you with Kellen Moore as the backup? As comfortable as a cat in the dog pound.

B. If we don't draft a QB in round 1 or 2, should a vet QB be brought in and who? If a franchise QB is not drafted, Hoyer would be a nice addition at any price given Romo's age and durability.

No rant here.

Completely "un."

I wanted Daniels earlier, but not at his price. The only guy available I think legitimately better than Moore right now is Hoyer. I guess Fitz, too, but he'll get a starting gig.

Via trade? Who's out there that could be available? Glennon? Unlikely they let him go, and his contract's expiring. McKown? He's going to turn into Brad Johnson at midnight.

When the Superbowl champs are looking at starting Mark Sanchez, you know that the pickins are slim at the position.

I really don't care about the backup position that much.

Who has a good backup? Who? Almost nobody, that's who.

Tell me the name of the backup who would have rolled through Ryan, Brees, Brady, Wilson, and Eli in consecutive games last year without Dez Bryant?

There are 12 good quarterbacks in the world. The rest suck. Truth.

I want someone to groom or a decent backup to at least keep Dallas in playoff contention if a short term injury to Romo occurred.

Pretty sure we aren't going in to the season with just Kellen Moore.
Also pretty sure that a rookie wouldn't be an upgrade to Moore in 2016 or would they have been an upgrade to what we had last year...not in year 1.

They will probably add a vet. And if they draft a rookie that's worth keeping, Moore may be out.

The line of thought, I think, is to have a backup who can win you a few games in a 5 or 6 game stretch. It's a given that if your starter goes down and you don't have a guy who can come in and be a starter, then your season is probably over. However, if your QB has an injury that is not season ending and you are good enough to compete for a playoff spot, then you want a guy who gives you a chance. That's the context I think, not if Romo goes down it's done. JMO

Are you expecting a vet to get cut? Only vet out there now is Hoyer and Fitz and Hoyer is talking to the Jets today.

A. Not comfortable with Moore as the No. 2

B. I am completely fine if they don't draft a QB in rounds 1 or 2. I don't think any of these guys would step in and be much more than Weeden or Cassell should Romo get injured. I am all for getting a QB in the draft if he is a franchise guy according to scouts or has the tools to be a very good QB after being developed per the scouts. However, I want them to grab a vet to be No. 2 and let the kid develop.

Not liking the Hoyer move....with this coaching staff....Hoyer could be the second coming of Matt Cassel....

Well they don't want to spend for a backup... I see Hoyer as someone who they can keep within their budget and be decent. Fitzpatrick is out of the question. I wanted him last season before he joined the Jets and it seems like his value went way up -- which isn't surprising.

A) He's awful. Shouldn't be on the roster.

B) Honestly, I can't give you an answer. I can't see any vet QBs worth bringing in. But you have to have someone capable behind Romo. Especially after what happened last year.

I guess you will need to sign trash like Hoyer. Not a good situation.

1. About as uncomfortable as I get watching Romo take a hit.
2. Depends is there anyone really that much better than the left arm bandit right now? I'd rather see a draft pick here than Moore or any FA option.

Doesn't matter who the back up is, if we lose Romo, we won't get to the SB.

You are 100% correct. So as a organization the #1 priority should be finding a capable young replacement. Tony's back hurts from carrying the load for so long.
